I must be the only person in the history of vaping who didn't get raped, my original pv was made by a company called century 21 I think, or something like that, I got a bat a charger and 7 cartos for under $30, it wasn't highway robbery, and was a nice welcome to vaping, I moved on to an ego with in two weeks, but it didn't scare me away.

Nope, that's how I started also, jkm; so there's two of us :D. 21st Century Smoking, then to a 510 slim, then to making my own mods.

OMG! I mean seriously! This is the second thread I've seen in two days where mall venders are charging beyond insane prices! The other one was $99.00 for ONE bottle of e juice. I carry small cards with ECF on them and hand them out to anyone interested, smokers or not. I'm always on the ready to pass it along out there. Have ZERO tolerance for corruption, greed, unaccountability , and disrespect! :grr:

Last weekend, my wife and I went to a local flea market to browse, and ran across a stall selling ecigs and supplies. Aside from being over priced, i.e. $120 for an ego-t kit, they were full of crap as well. They MAKE their own juice that they sell, so I would have hoped they would know better than to spread the lies around. He told me that his 5ML, yes 5ML bottle was equivalent to a CARTON of cigaretts, and the 15ML bottle was equal to 3 cartons! Wow! Just wow! That's when I pulled out my madvapes VV box with a 5ml tank and said "no thanks" as I waled away blowing clouds. I definitely handed out all of my cards to my local shop that day! Vapingzone is here in town, and a lot better priced than them, and they have a lot more honest knowledge to give out, not a load of crap.

My first vaping experience was w/ a kiosk vendor. Didn't know that you could order online and was desparate to quit smoking. Bought a total POS for more than I'm willing to admit.. BUT... when I went online to research what was wrong with the POS kit, I found the ECF.

To me? A small price to pay to get off of a 25 year habit. The kiosks do raise awareness - even if they are highway robbery. There is never an excuse for gouging to that degree but the overhead (rent) in a mall is a heavy burden. They are probably desparate to keep the store afloat and going about it in a really bad way.

There is no excuse for that. While it is expected that a store would cost a bit more than online, double the online price would be reasonable--about $70-$80 for a FULL set-up. Also, a slim bat as well as an ego bat would allow the vendor to discuss the limitations of a small bat, but still allowing it to be an option for those of us who insisted on starting with something that was the size of a cigarette. I have no problem with kiosk vendors making money, but they would get more sales if they were honest and reasonable.

I'm guessing, and certainly not defending, that the reason many of the kiosk sellers charge these prices is because in a lot of areas 1) they are the only source 2) mall rent is high and sales volume is low. It's ridiculous. I guess if they can stay in business, more power to them, but it angers me that they only get away with this because of an uniformed customer base. I won't hesitate to call shenanigans and ruin a sale for them though. Maybe I'll find a supplier and set up my own kiosk selling good equipment at honest prices. Probably won't stay in business long though....but then again...maybe I'll look into it.
