:lol: so I don't have the correct supplies but I....ME...SHADAV BELIEVE IT OR NOT DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a protank head that was leaking like crap and dirty....so decided to take it apart...

carefully unraveled the wire (man did that thing have some caked on grime) threw away the useless wick....

now I don't have wicks here....never rebuilt an atty before....but I have some fluff crap for cig-a-likes I got with my ejuice diy kit so I tested with it...

wrapped the wire around it carefully maybe 3 times
pushed it down into the base and pulled the wires through the bottom...folded one end of the wire down
aligned other wire end into the rubber cap thing....and tried to push it back into the atty

kept losing the dang blasted wire while trying to push the rubber piece back into the atty :mad: finally said good enough and finally got the blasted rubber piece back into the atty bent the other end down onto the rubber end and put the metal end piece back in and put it on my mod...it tested at 1.9 oHm
:thumbs: and the crappy filler for a cig-a-like burned and broke apart :lol: but but but it worked! And into the trash the piece of crap went!
*happy dance*

So please tell me that actual rebuildables are a lot easier than that!

rebuilding kanger coils is actually more difficult than rbas... especially rdas... rdas offer more space (most of the time) if you opt for cotton as well you can wrap a pretty perfect micro coil on a drill bit... then thread the cotton through...

well theres a step or two first... but thats the short of it...

:) thanks...i've read a lot about rebuilding and had a lot of pointers....just never did it before, wasn't interested, didn't have time, bla bla bla....but my protank atty's are reaching the end of their lives and the new one's aren't here yet so figured I'd play a bit

wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be with the arthritis in my hands...used a pair of needle nose pliers

it was more just for ....s and giggles...but seeing that it actually worked...thinking it's time to step up to the real deal :)

God yes, rebuilding on anything is way easier. If I knew building coils was so easy I would have got into rba's and rda's a long time ago. My protank leaked like a ....* all the time and trying to get a decent coil in that little space was a pita on the protank. It takes some practice, but the vape is a million times better and once you get the hang of it, you can build wicks and coils in a matter of minutes. Get them glowing nice and be in vape heaven! :)

Up North
RDA = Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer
RBA = ReBuildable Atomizer

Or so I thought.

So, you rebuilt a Protank coil and wrapped it using the original wire? I can't imagine how difficult that must have been. Do yourself a favor and buy some resistance wire. Then go to the thread in the "Tips and Tricks" and read the thread on re-coiling a Kanger with a cotton wick. It's like stupid simple and works fantastic.

Here it is:

Protank Cotton Rebuild, the way I do it

I'm amazed that you were able to do that (use the original wire). I just rebuilt a Protank coil this morning, and it's only the second time that I've gotten it right on the first try (I've probably rebuilt 50 Protank coils).

Like the previous poster said, get some Kanthal and silica (or Kanthal and cotton). You will find it MUCH easier when you can use new, fresh wire (and luckily it's pretty cheap on Ebay). (I still just use 6 wraps of 32 Kanthal A1 around silica wick).

Congratulations on your success!
