What's a good way to introduce them to the idea?

Most likely they will be able to recognize that this is at least a better alternative, although some people have strange opinions. If their opinions matter to you, or if you want to be able to defend against attacks from people who are ignorant about it, I would say knowledge is the best weapon you can have at your disposal. Learn as much as you can about the compounds in the juice and what else they are used for and why, the difference between smoke and vapor, etc. Also, understand that some people won't be able to accept it, no matter how much evidence you present to them, because we have been conditioned to believe that smoking is bad (which it is), and anything that resembles smoking can trigger the same warning bells for some people.

Good luck and a better life!!

if you think you spend a lot, do as i did: use a calculator (the pc one is great one) and count what u used per day/month/year... and think about a great journey :p

about the kids: I said to my dad (i'm still homeliving, he's a heavy anti-smoker) this is healthier and has great tastes, gave it the time and after a while he asked to taste it (once)... it was heavy and then he realised - I Just Had Nicotine, The Horror -, then I expleaned tomatos have nico, no difference allas. At least i can do it in my room. I never could and wanted to smoke in my room.

just wanted to get a post with a story, hope you enjoyed it and at the same time i just practiced my english, it was a while :p

Congratulations on quitting! It's hard to stop vaping once you start...it's just so yummy! One suggestion that I've been doing is ordering some lower nicotine juice (or 0mg) in addition to my regular strength. That way I can vape the lower when I'm not really needing the nicotine fix as much and still enjoy the flavors. It's so hard not to vape continously...now I don't need to slow down. So so good! :)

Sonso –

I am THIRLLED for you!! A few months ago my sister came to visit and she showed me an electric cigarette she ordered from a TV commercial. After one puff I knew that I had FINALLY discovered the missing link I had been looking for to quit smoking. Im 30 years old and I grew up with parents who smoke, and picked it up when I was just 15. Ive tried it all – gum, patch, Chantix, meds, ecx. Nothing worked, and I thought I was going to die young… and I hated myself for not being able to quit.

That night I ordered my first ecig, and a few days later I was a non-smoker… overnight. I still have my last pack of cigs. It’s half empty and collecting dust in a drawer because as soon as my e-cig arrived I had no desire to light up an “analog”. (look at me – getting into the Vape lingo!)

My sister, unfortunately, still struggles. She switches between ecigs and analogs. Not me though. And I have also convinced my mom to make the switch. Both my mom and I have no desire to touch a cigarette ever again. We are Vapers for life!

Now Im all sucked up into the Vape sub-culture. Vaping is just so… I don’t know… classy? Sophisticated? Mysterious? I don’t know… I just love the feeling I get from it. Like I can be addicted to nicotine all I want and it no longer harms me or those around me. It’s a beautiful thing.

There are so many pro’s- and not one single con. Like you I don’t see why anyone would want to smoke ashes and tar and fermeldahide after trying an e-cig. There really is NO excuse to smoke anymore these days. Vapor is the FUTURE!!!

Enjoy your new freedom to enjoy nicotine in ways you never imagined possible!

If you can't put your MOD/vap down then I would suggest to up your nic level... I too love vaping and realized that my MOD was always being carried and never put down to take a breather. My brother suggested to up my nic level and you will automatically slow down and gradually decrease your nic level. I smoked a pack a day on average for 23 yrs. and started at 12mg and increased it to 24mg of nic., I am now down to 6mg. of nic. and still consuming the same amount of juice. I've been vaping for a little under six months now... I hope to achieve 0mg of nic. soon but if you ask me to quit vaping that just isn't gonna happen. Congrats...

Thanks everyone. I'm settling down a bit. Now I'm stalking the mail even though I only ordered somethings today! Must have more juices! One of everything would be nice! Seems like the 18 strength is pretty good for me. I tried 24 and got a few unpleasant side effects like...headache. I'm about to float away from all the water too. Still just as excited though. This message board is the best. I already feel at home here. My cigarette urges just aren't there at all but I'm vaping up a storm! It's a fun, crazy wild ride!

LOL, I hear you! I make so many trips to the bathroom these days, I'm wanting to start redecorating it so it's not so "clinical" looking. Maybe some flowers...

It's funny to think that as smokers we typically would find our brand and stick with it and expect and look forward to the same consistent burned tobacco taste, hit, and monotonous experience, but as vapers we instead typically get excited about the variety of batteries and instruments and the different flavors and qualities of juices, always looking for our next great find to arrive in the mail.

I didn't spent hours upon hours surfing websites and forums dreaming about buying and taking care of and managing all kinds of cigarette smoking gear. Love it.
