I started on 2 Twist batteries 1000 mAh, and I am glad I did. I also tried disposable CE4 (a clearomizer tank) but quickly got Kanger T2s. I think they are better for starters because they are easier to troubleshoot IMO. I have been going strong for 2 months, and now have tried T2, T3, knock off Vivi nova mini, and regular Vivi Nova, but in a pinch, I always make sure to have my T2 ready.

You really do get used to the size of the Twist. It's light and only about the size of a sharpee. Check out Baditude's link. It's pretty good, and they are the one that helped me out when I was a deer in headlights.

Lastly, you will be overwhelmed at all the information there is out there. Try not to be overwhelmed. Take in as much as you can and keep asking questions. I promise we won't get mad! I can't link but Youtube "Grimm Green Twist" He has a great review and explanation of that battery.

1.8 ohm heads will allow 12.8 watts of power at the 4.8volts setting of the ego twist (which is the ego twist max setting) so i would think the 1.8 ohm heads would yield the most variable option for you to set your favorable voltage setting to achieve the best taste from your juice. 2.8 ohm heads set at 4.8 volts will put out 8.2 watts of power. So you could get more "heat" from the low res 1.8 ohm heads. Basic rule is, the higher the ohms, the higher the volts can be set.

You could go with the mini vivi nova as well. The higher resistance/ohm the more power (volts or watts for some) you can put through it and the more vape you can produce- to put it simply. The bigger mods are nice for that if you are really into vape production and if you get something like a vivi nova you have the option of changing out the atomizer when you want to turn it up. I vape out of a Vamo which even many members of this forum think looks funny. It's big and shiney and when I started I wanted the smallest one I could find so it looked like a cigarette. It took me a while to have the epiphany you already had in the space of this thread. I think you'll do great.

Also, for juice I would avoid ec-blend as imho it is pretty low on quality. I recently ordered from mt. Baker and I loved the juices, they're pretty good on price too. Try flavors you wouldn't usually like too. You'd be surprised what you might like to vape. I also like the fruit flavors from vapor bank, especially the soft blueberry. Good luck!

OK, I've got it figured out... getting 2 stainless 1000 mah ego twist c's... 3 t-2's, 5 extra heads, 2 USB chargers, 3 aluminum mouthpieces, a syringe... all for under $100.00 shipped... now for juice...
What do y'all recommend for a nice menthol? Strong, but not holy crap strong? I'll mainly smoke that, but will experiment with other stuff also. I wanna try green apple & grape... coffee... ahh, crap! There are so many!... lol

I know everyone loves the twist but I don't know if that would be something you would want to carry around in your pocket at work. With a T3 attached the 1000mAh battery is 7.5 inches long. This is what I use at home and I love it.

For work though I have an 808. It's a small battery and even an auto but it works great and I can just toss 2 of them in my pocket. I've read that the 808's from bloogplanet.com are top notch and will probably grab a couple 75mm manuals myself.

As for juice, I haven't got to try a lot yet but I do love most of what I've tried from vermillion river. If you want something fruity I highly recommend their Texas watermelon.

Well, I doubt it will become an issue... I'm at work right now... lol.... I spend 80% of my day watching tv, and the other 20% doing paperwork. It won't be in my pocket, but when it is, I always wear a hoodie or my carhartt... big ol pockets. I might get a smaller setup later, but if the GF is paying for it, I'm getting a good setup... lol

Hello and welcome to ECF! And a huge congrats on getting off the stinkies!! So for juice, first let me say I am not a menthol person.
That said, I have had great success ordering juice from ECblends. They have a huge selection and good pricing! Even a 20% off coupon, the code is 10020. And I see that you are in OR and they are in Medford!
So maybe order some juice from who ever you are getting your kit from and also place a sampler order from ECB to get started.
Again welcome, congrats and good luck!!

In that case then yeah you should be good. I work in a kitchen so there's no way I would carry it in my pants pocket all day. If the GF is buying though go provari. :D

Another thing, grab a couple atomizers if you haven't already planned to. They're great for taste testing before filling a whole tank.

I was like you. I wanted the mod with the big tank, and the ability to change the intensity of my vape. So I bought a $70.00 kit on sale, some extra batteries, a monster tank, and a clearomizer, a couple of drip tips, and 4 different juices. Since then, I've thrown away the tank and switched to dripping because it was not giving me the amount of vapor needed to transition from 2 packs a day, sent back 2 batteries, and now I am sending back the device because it is not reading the batteries correctly. It died at a party on New Years Eve! Aaaargh!
I bought an 1100 mAh Ego with a bottom coil C4 clearo (from ecig.com) and couldn't be happier! It was $27 for the battery, and $6 for the clearo tank. It lasts 2 days between charging and refilling, and is the easiest thing in the world.
Point is, when starting out, less is more. Start simple and go from there.
It is tough to go from something as simple as pulling out a smoke and lighting it to the complexity of a device that you are adjusting your volts depending on which juice you are using, changing heads, cleaning atties or carts, changing batteries, etc.
With the eGo, I pick it up and inhale, much like before.
Good luck.

I'm new to e-cigs, obviously.... ive tried a few disposables & my GF bought a blu kit & I like it, but i want something a lil better.
So far it sounds like i want a 510-T setup with 2 large batteries, at least 5 attys, 10 carts, 2 USB chargers, a pass-through battery, and some type of case.... plus some good strong, but not gross menthol juice.... Am i missing anything?
I'd like to hear from some experienced users. id like to know where is the best place to buy this all together? what batteries & what atty's will work well & last a good while.... any other info for a technically chalenged person would be helpful.
thanks in advance!

Go with something simple !

Get this : 2 x vision spinner 1300 mah batteries
1 x battery charger
1 x Kanger T3 clearomizer
2 x Kanger T3 replacement bases.

You cannot get a better setup. And the e liquid is all down to personal preference. Just get some vegetable glycerine e liquid and some propylene glycol e liquid and experiment. That's what you'll end up doing anyway. I don't believe in making things complicated. It really is that simple !.

If size matters .. Lol .. Then I would suggest you go with one of the many Clearomizer tanks with a smaller eGo 510 type battery. If you go this route make sure the atomizer head is 2 ohm or less or your Vape will suffer. Most non variable volt batts put out less than 3.5 volts and using the +2 theory (add 2 to atomizer resistance) a 1.8 ohm atty would Vape best at around 3.8 volts. From experience, I can tell you that most non vv batts will Vape fine with a 1.8 Clearomizer and are quite stealthy as well. If length does not matter, then I would definitely agree with the suggestions of getting a "Twist". The 650mah version is not too long and certainly worth having the ability to adjust the voltage to accommodate for atomizer resistance.
