My lava tube came today and its smaller than I thought. I pictured it a lot bigger. I'm glad its smaller, I was afraid it would be too big after looking at all of the videos and pics. I have the battery charging and can't wait to try it out. I keep waiting for the red light to go green. Its horrible trying to wait. LOL

BTW my connection looks straight and no flaws that I can tell. We will see how it performs as soon as my dam battery is ready. LOL

I have been dripping on mine most the morning and loving it. I am using a Volcano 510 Standard 2.4 atty. I did put a drip shield on it as I always do with tub mods and dripping.

All in all a good mod to have around. I am going to toss a tank and carto set up on it over the weekend.

Dave -- yay!! Im so happy for you! See? It was smaller than i thought it would be too. Not sure why that is. Hope you get to try it out soon and let us know what you think!

Yes its a lot smaller than I thought. I can't wait to try it with my Bulli A2. I will report back once the dam battery charges and I can vape like crazy. I put my Bulli on it to see what it looked like and to check to see if the connection was straight, it fits like a glove and looks cool.

Hurry up and charge already. LOL It will be around 6 or 7 pm before I can use it based on the charge times Ive been reading.

Really? Dont they usually come at least partially charged? hey i have a neat trick for ya if you havent heard of it yet. If you put the battery in the LT, turn it on. Now if you hit the teeny on button 7 times, it will tell you what your battery charge is. Fully charged mine usually says about 4. I thought I heard on a video that when its getting pretty dead will be around 3 or 3.2?

Im posting this in all the lavatube threads,so if youve read it,move on to the next post:

This is MY opinion..... I just received my lavatube today....first I thought as i took it out of the packaging, wow this is pretty nice. Then as I was inserting the battery, the plastic battery cap came RIGHT OFF the aluminum bottom piece that holds the spring. My second thought...you get what you pay for,you can tell its a mass produced chinese mod...but with some superglue,i reattached the plastic bottom to the aluminum spring housing. Ok then I tried to see if an AW 18650 battery would fit...neither the button topped one would fit, neither would the flat top AW 2900Mah...it would fit either battery...so I just slipped a black oring over the bottom cap to act as a spacer, and both AW 18650 batts then fit...and you cant even see the oring cuz everythings black.(I opted to use the 2900mah flat top for longer life) Theni I threw on a jtank with a boge SR 3ohm carto...and started vaping away....except for the loose jiggly voltage control buttons,it seems like a pretty solid build. I have to say that I REALLY like it,and its WAY lighter than the Provari...but its pretty long, with either an atty, carto,or tank, becuz it houses an 18650 battery. If they were gonna copy the provari...they should of done the same bottom cap design...that if you want to use a bigger battery, you buy an extension battery cap(it woulda been more revenue for the company too by having an accessory to sell). I prefer using my chrome provari in it 18500 mode cuz it shortens the overall length once youve put on a tank or whatever yer gonna use.

Ok now the provari...its DEFINITELY a better made PV...once you hold it in yer hand, youll feel the difference RIGHT AWAY. Its made from SS instead of thinner Aluminum,so its gonna last ALOT longer most likely....BUT,because it SS it alot heavier,so it may not be the most pocket friendly PV....but the Lavatube tho being much lighter, its longer,so it may not be the BEST either...so both have their drawbacks to being a all day pocket carrying device...but thats personal preferance. So all in all,the Lavatube IS worth the money...you cant beat $63 shipped for a VV tube mod,and under $90 shipped for the whole it(battery, atty, charger, case) BUT,if you only want to buy ONE,the old saying rings true...."buy the best that you afford right from the start" cuz when you buy cheap, itll just end up making you want more...and even tho the provari makes you cycle thru the menu(which becomes second nature within yer first few uses),it offers more functions that the Lavatube doesnt...and the Provaris fit and finish is WAY better(like they say,and I said b4,you get what you pay for).

So,if you can afford it,I say stick with the tried and true provari(the lavatube is still too new to know its durability...if its like every other china cheapy,im sure itll break eventually, like a wires solder point breaking,or something similar). Ya cant go wrong with the provari cuz you have any problems with it,you have somewhere to call, you can just send it in for repairs,I serioiusy doubt the lavatube would be worth fixing if it broke...its kinda along the mentality of,what do you do with yer 510/901/801/ego batts when they stop working? Ya toss em....thats pretty much how i feel about the lavatube(and im sure the manufacturers think that too, thats why itso pricing is right along the line of an ego kit, maybe a LIL more, but PRETTY much in the same price range) I saw what the lavatubes sell for in bulk, about $35,so im sure you can get the idea of what the internals look like, and how sturdy theyre put together.

I WILL be keeping my lavatube, even tho I own a provari....cuz if I left the house, and I wanted a VV tube mod,id grab the lavatube without thinking twice about it cuz it was so.cheap,i could care less if I drop it or if it gets a lil beat up(or worse,I lost it or somebody stole it)..i would be ...... if anything happend to my provari.

So there it is...now the choice is up to you which one to buy.GLWP,youll be happy wither EITHER device...really.

P.S. people who are using DC or LR atties or cartos need to watch Grimm Greens LavaTube FOLLOW UP video
He shows that when using DC or LR atties or cartos, the LT kicks the safety feature on,and you really dont have any control of the voltage settings,it automatically drops the voltage down to UNDER 3.7v so it doesnt ruin the atty or carto.
Definitely watch the vid if you you plan on using DC or LR atties or cartos on the LT.

P.S.S. ive been using my LT for a couple weeks now,and i still think its a great VV mod for the money.
I still dont know about its durability, but so far besidea those darn rattley voltage control buttons, its a pretty solid feeling PV...definitely worth the $62 shipped I paid for it....but it still cant touch the construction quality of the Provari(but I dont think they planned that from the get go,they just designed a cheaper alternative to the provari so the masses can afford to try/buy a VV device)

Got my LT today from Volcano....2 days from Hawaii, Fedex....very happy so far....I bought the kit, cost me about 107 bucks all together....cannot beat the price for someone, like myself, who wants to try VV. Im using it with dual coil 1.5 lr cartomizers.....Vaping AVE Juice Caramel Kicker 18mg nic in a DCT Map Tank.....Very nice at 4.3 volts...All is GOOD!!!
Highly recommended.....

Hey Thanks, I just tried that and it read 4.1 and its been on charge for almost 3 hours but the red light was still on but maybe it was about to turn green. Anyway I'm going to mess around with it now and will be back later when I'm done playing.

Hey Phishhed -- interesting thoughts. I do have a couple of comments tho. Would I have rather gotten a Provari? Heck ya! Would I be okay with spending about $200 for that beauty? Not really. I had a hard time committing to spending the $100 on the LT! Now everybody says, yeah but look at how much you save by not smoking. Well honestly i dont think ive saved a dime what with cartos and juices and the kits i have bought. I go through juice like nobodys business! So to me, the LT is not something that is expendable that i would throw away if it stopped working. There is a year warranty on it and I would definitely go through the trouble of trying to get it fixed if something were to happen.

I'm glad you think it is still a good unit. It is my first ever mod and I could be happy with this for a long time.

The thing about the LT dropping the voltage down (I have watched that video, good video), if the Provari thinks the voltage is too high, it will just give you an error message and not work. So really, I dont see the difference -- except for maybe DC which apparently the LT will adjust down but you can vape fine on a Provari.

Either way, I do like it when everybody is happy with the set up that suits them! I had been searching for that elusive "sweet spot" since i heard the term and now i feel like i have found it!

Well day two with the lavatube and i have learned one important lesson, i gotta cut back my nic levels lol

I get a lot more kick with the LA than i ever did with the ego. Think i will pick one juice and buy a sample at all the nic levels and see where that leads me.
I just buy my favorite juice at max nic and extra flavor, then cut it with VG - to desired nic and flavor!

At 3.7 it will hit harder then a ego, as egos are regulated to 3.2v. Regardless I ordered a lavatube today. I've been watching the glowing reviews, and decided to go for the unit plus two batteries. Got some high ohm atties and cartos on the way as well. I like have regulated low voltage though, so it should be a win-win. Hope I like it.

And for the record, I don't think they overcharge for the provari. Provape is a great company, and the provari is a unit built to last. You get what you pay for. The lavatube may or may not be a great unit. I dont know I dont have mine yet. But its not even comparable to the quality of the provari. My 2 cents on this whole argument. I think that the lavatube is a great entry level VV tube mod. But its like comparing the bombshell to the silver bullet. Theres a reason that people pay the extra for the bullet. Its nicer. Same in the case of Provari vs lavatube.

Anyway had to rant a little bit. But I'm getting a lavatube. And im stoked. Should be awesome :D
