Owning the Icon I can't truly endorse it. It's performance is disappointing especially considering I use it with IMRs. The lock works great however. When the dust settles I may get some AW IMRs and I will gladly retract my comments should batteries prove otherwise. My 14500 box mod on regular Trustfires performs better, sorry.

Vaporologist sent me a PM...
<<If you are experiencing a lack of performance, most likely the issue is with the bottom contact screw. The ones sent initially had a SS contact screw which is a pain in the ... (also on my V3). You have to sand it down once a week due to oxidation which accumulates quickly. If you feel like it's not hitting well, just sand it down for a few seconds and apply Noalox which is a MUST with that device and that screw. If you have a new upgraded switch kit with a brass screw, then you don't need to worry about it any more than on your P18. Let me know if this help.>>
I went one step further and changed the screw to brass. It is an 8-32 thread 3/8" long. It now performs as expected.
I gather this problem has been discussed on the PS forum. Not previously ownig a PS product I did/do not participate there. or I would have known of this problem.
I therefore retract my previous comments wrt performance. It performs very well when proper conductivity is supplied to the atty. On a side note, when a mechanical device is not performing up to par, it is usually a conductivity problem (contact points corroded/gunked up).
