So I recently bought a Kick for another device and decided to give it a trial run in my OMGAD first(bought extenders awhile ago, had been running IMR 18650 batteries in it). anyways WOW. I love it. put it right back into my normal rotation of devices I take to work. Now people say that you shouldn't use IMR batteries in the Bolt(the original name for what is the OMGAD, just the OMGAD has a 808 connector.) because the wires are to small of a gauge. There was a rumer that when the OEM made them with 808 connectors that they also upgraded the wires. I don't know if this is true and I guess time will tell if my OMGAD burns out, but now you can not get the thing out of my hand! Right now vaping V4L Sour Apple at just under 10 watts, which on my volt meter is around 5 volts, and it is just a great vape!

I don't know if this infringes on any supplier forum rules or anything but I must say Variable Wattage does seem to be the way to go! and if you have a OMGAD and are looking for a little bit more out of it adding the Kick is a great way to go! You just need 1 extender to use the kick and 18500 battery or 2 extenders for kick and 18650 battery. Also the Kick requires IMR batteries. Just beware of the possible wiring issue.

That was almost a month ago and it's still going strong. On that note though do not use IMR batts in the OMG all day unless you're using the kick. The OMGad has no layer of protection in it, no cut off, no over amperage protection, no over heating protection, etc. It is a simple mod that uses the bare minimum of electronics to work (it's a mechanical mod for all intensive purposes with wires connecting the button to the batt, much like a gas powered car engine is mechanical with the exception of the bare minimum wiring to start it). IMR batts have no protection circuit, and while they are "safer" chemistry, it's again like saying you own a safe pet tiger. There's still potential that it will fail, and when it does it's not good. You only want to use protected cells in the OMGad when you're not using the kick. The reason the kick is an exception is due to it's built in protection circuits.

What you mainly want to keep an eye is the kick. Where the OMGad has had no issues with the higher wattage thus far, the kick has had a lot of reported failure issues right around month 1-3.
