So I'm on my drive home the other day, minding my own business vaping out of my smok m80 mod with a freemax starre 0.25 ohm on it. About 20 mins into my drive I start to feel a hole burning into the side of my head as if I'm getting the death glare from my wife so I turn to look and theres this lady in another car just staring at me. I give a little wave and continue driving assuming shes just confused by the amount of smoke I'm producing. Nope. She drives along side of me for a few blocks and flags me to open my window, so as to not be too rude, I opened my window. She stares at me and asks me what I'm doing .. obviously driving home from work. "No not that, why are you doing drugs on the road?" Hah .. drugs .. kids and their crazy-- wait what? So I try to explain to her that it's vaping. Its not smoking, I'm not doing drugs .. I'm vaping. "Well whatever it is, I'm sure you cant be doing this vaping drug. Just a courtesy warning to you, I've phoned the police and given them your license plate no. and the road we're on."

Really ...? Did you really just phone the police? Yep, she did. 2 blocks from my home and I get pulled over. Cop comes up to my window and looks at me and says "Son, have you been doing anything I should know about?" So I show him my mod, looks at it and laughs. "You know the Arctic tank is better right?" Man .. I just started laughing as he pulled out his Sigelei. I've never laughed that hard over vaping to this day.

Just thought I'd share my story. Not everyone with the law is against vaping.

This is the kind of person who freaks me out: the sanctimony who believes to have the "right" (better yet, the "moral obligation") to make "better" persons of other people - even by *force*, if needed. People who have this sick need of nosing around other peoples lives, without properly checking facts. Those are usually so opiniated about their own beliefs, they do not even bother to find the truth. There's no need for that, because they are always on the right. The "truth" is only what *they* believe.

It was not even enough for this person to see something "strange" on the road and then simply call the police to let *them* check if anything was *really* wrong, and be on her merry way.

So, she had to make clear that she *caught* you "doing drugs", and *she* had called the cops to *teach* you a lesson.
She was the reason of your "downfall". And let it be a lesson for you: next time you're "doing drugs" on the road, some other member of the "moral police" MAY be watching you too...!

What a pity that this despicable human being was NOT around to see you "properly arrested" for your "misbehavior"... she would have had a real surprise. Maybe, just maybe, THAT could be an eye-opener for her.

thats' what I call a "Mrs Kravitz" and they're everywhere..if one more demands (as it's not quite asking) if that's rhymes with stash oil in my tank ONE more time..I'm going to go Bewitched on her.

glad it wasn't an unpleasant vape mishap for you!! :)

I've been pulled over by a local yocal but he was cool once I told him what it was just a personal vaporizer for nicotine liquid.

 I hate people like that.

I'm glad the cop encounter was a pleasant one at least. I usually explain it by saying it's like an electronic cigarette, just looks different. By her attitude though, she probably wouldn't have believed you or cared. I would hate to get pulled over myself but I'm hispanic and have had a bit of a scary racist cop encounter, and friends who've had more. Luckily it seems like cops know enough about them.

I've worried about this, though I haven't had an incident like it myself yet. I have just noticed that ever since I got my subtank I'm getting some looks at the red lights. I mean yeah the car is fogged completely out... The urge to control the behavior of others is an exercise in futility, and those who can't resist it are a sad lot. Most likely trying to apply control to compensate for their own feelings of inferiority. It's a power trip, and it's pathetic.

I was parked at a store, sitting in my car with my brother-in-law, turning the interior into a fog bank. Some old lady pulled up, honked her horn and yelled "I'm gonna call the cops on you guys".

My brother-in-law stepped out, pulled out his badge, and asked her to step out of her car. Then he warned her about the dangers of honking, yelling at, and threatening complete strangers on the street. He told her how lucky she was that he was a cop rather than a gang member who might have shot her. She was visibly shaking by the time he let her get back in her car and go on her way.

I have some of the best times riding around with him in the car.

I chain vape all day with an Atlantis - in my office, on the road, and at home. What worries me is I'm a person of color and have a concealed carry permit. If I get pulled over because of someone calling the cops on me for vaping, the hassle of dealing with a cop when you're a person of color and carrying concealed at the same time is just ... well, you know.

I just love this--and he's right, too. I've never understood what people are thinking, screwing around with complete strangers. Forget the gang member, they're easy to identify. What about a serial killer like, say, Ted Bundy? Wanna yell at him? Really? :D

Maybe just talk about the vaping, and sort of not disclose other stuff until asked? I don't know the rules about concealed carry permits, but I don't offer information when pulled over.

In NC if pulled over with a CC, it is required to disclose immediately to any officer that you are carrying.

The last thing you want is for a cop to find out that there's been a gun in the car and they didn't know about it from the instant they walked up to the window. As a general rule, I don't like startling people who are authorized to use deadly force.
