Something has been on my mind ever since someone asked me this question. We have been seeing offers of dead and/or dying ecig parts in the PIF thread. Now I know we have a lot of modders out there that love these and wll grab them in a heart beat and I don't have a problem with them being offered. I'm just wondering where we should be offering them. Should it be in the PIF thread or the DIY PIF thread. I have mixed feelings on it so I want to get your input on this one.

Please feel free to voice your opinion on it as well. After all, this is OUR group and I will give you all a say in most things. I will leave the poll open for 48 hours. That should be long enough for everyone to see it.

(Yeah, I stickied it, but just for a couple of days. :p )

Edit to add: If it is decided to open a modder's thread, dead/broken equipment can still be offered in the PIF thread. This is just to give modders a better chance at getting what they need to keep making the mods they keep offering here. It will be up to the one offering whick of the two threads would be best for them.

I dont think the PIF thread is the place for it.Either DIY or a modders thread. You choose.

well originally i was looking for them in the DIY thread because modding is basically hardware DIY. i'll say i think it makes more sense to go in DIY but that's my opinion and will ultimately go w/ the group's decision.

Come on, make it a little easier on me and vote, lol I think this is one decision that should be made by the group.

I voted "Another seperate modders thread" but, would of voted the swaps e-cig related thread had it been a choice :)

I think having them on the PIF or the DIY PIF would delay the threads IMO but I could be wrong since I haven't really been PIF'ing long enough to know what goes and does not..

You bring up a very valid point. Going to close this one and do a new one since I can't change the poll. I will transfer the posts but you will have to vote again.

I can't vote because I think "parts" should be able to be offered in all 4 threads.

We tell new members "it's ok if you only have (insert minor item of choice here) to offer, go ahead and take it" all the time. I don't see a difference really. I know the thread got stalled recently because of this, but in all fairness, I've seen it stall with a lot of good juice sitting there as well.:2c::toast:

Edit: As long as the post clearly states batteries and such do NOT work.

I voted swap thread cause.

It seems wrong to offer broken parts in the normal PIF thread

I think that limiting them to the DIY PIF would hinder people who don't do DIY and would have no need for the stuff in the DIY PIF from offering up the broken parts they have.

Now honestly I think that they should be allowed in both the DIY PIF and the swap thread.

I've seen days where I couldn't have gotten to them quick enough if I wanted them.......I see things being fine the way they are. Like another poster mentioned...there's times when over an ounce of juice sits there forever. Just PIF by nature IMO. Some days are slow and some rock......I don't blame the slow days on parts being offered. boB (not voting cause option not there)

I would be worried about making a modders pif, only because People who have no modders parts to offer would not be able to pick up mod parts. I only tried making a mod once before I picked up a modders kit from zbass. I had so much fun and learned alot making my new box mod and can't wait to make another. So I voted swaps but have no problems seeing them in regular pif ! :)

Thats true,it would be hard to have a modders thread,If you need parts, you usually dont have any to trade.Swap thread might work or garage sale thread.

There are different things that modders need. Switches, boxes, LEDs, wire, solder, connectors. There are any number of things someone might have an excess of that they would be willing to swap out for other parts. I myself have about 30 tactile switches and 10 boxes but no connectors. There is potential for a modders thread. But we will see how the vote goes and what you all think.

I agree with you. Offer them in all the threads but make sure they are clearly listed as nonworking.
