My one bit of silly advice about wrapping coils is to set your whole operation in a cake pan or a dish or something so that you won't LOSE those tiny little post screws! I have a little serving tray type thing that I set everything in when I'm changing coils so that IF a screw drops, it'll stay where I can find it. There's almost NO WAY to find those tiny screws in carpet if you drop one! It'll also catch those stray pieces of wire you snip off after you've installed your coil. Those are lethal if you step on one that popped into the carpet, especially barefooted!

Just make sure the try is not too big. My elbows, wrists and ADHD cause me to drag the tray to the edge of the table and flip the whole freaking mess across the floor! Need to duct tape it down!!! LOL!

As my kids say "We worry about you Mom!"

OMG, a video of that scene just played across my mind's eye!!!! Hilarious. I can see how that could happen. Ha. Mine is just a small china dish, really, that has a lip around the edge. It has saved me more than once. Ha.

I was able to build a coil, I checked it on my provari and mvp and it showed 1.2 It a bit wonky but it works:) It's looks like its gunky in the middle after using it last night and this morning. Is it suppose to look that way after use? Or is it user error? not sure if I have too much or not enough cotton in there.
My local store has a coil class I'm going to try and get to tonight I'm hoping that will help with my confidence on this :)

Coil looks just fine. I'd trim that cotton up. You don't need much on the outsides. Some say to roll it so it slides in relatively easy. I use it a little thicker. With either, you have to learn how to keep it wet your way.

If you hit the coil class, save yourself some time. Bring twenty post-it notes with the following written on them:

That's a great looking coil, your confidence will soar when you realize your better than the teacher. Hopefully they spend some time on ohms law, batteries and safety, especially how to make sure your coil build is safe for your battery. If they don't, come back to ECF and educate yourself on those relationships.

There's a good chance that the coils class at your local B&M will be worthless. I know way more about coils than any of the B&M employees I've run across. And....they'll probably be wrapping SS mesh coils for tank RBAs.....which is not what we care about. Just guessing here. Just know to take it with a grain of salt.....and double check everything here before you actually do it. I had to teach my B&M guys about ohms law. For one thing, most B&M employees have never even seen a bottom feeder......

^^^that may be very snarky and unfair.....but it's been my experience, so just a heads up.

Well I hope this makes you feel better. It'll probably vape great for you despite it's battle scars. Consider it broken in and the first time it gets knocked off the table or dropped in the parking lot you'll not freak out like you would with a new one. You'll probably end up with a new one and you'll use this one as your "beater Reo."

NOw that you're official, welcome to Reoville. Here's your badge.

So Cal
I was in my local B&M this morning and talking about how I made my first 30 gauge coil on an 18 gauge needle. They all stopped and stared at this (almost) 60 year old woman - totally impressed because they only made huge coils with thick wire......ROFL They want lessons next time I go back.......HAHA I'm going to point them towards this board and all the videos I learned from! So, yeah, don't expect too much from your coil class - you may end up being the teacher:p
