This is a big issue IMO because the future of vaping is all about perception. If the perception is that some people are abusing the ability to vape illegal substances because they know they can get away with it easier than as you can imagine vaping will get banned in places that have to protect themselves from lawsuits and the police. This only adds fodder to the BT and BP companies trying to monopolize this market just like they did with prescription drugs and tobacco.

post an ad on craigslist in the groups, general and, rants and raves sections and see
if you can get some local vapers who go there together for a meeting with the owner.

explain to them you would like to do business at their establishment but, their
new rule is an inconvenience and you are taking your business elsewhere.
suggest if perhaps they put signs that stated illegal activities will not be tolerated
and and violators will be arrested would be a better solution.

if they followed through the word would get out pretty fast to the folks perpetrating
this activity and she would have more customers.
remind her more and more people are switching to PV's every day and alienating a growing group
of potential customers may not be a good idea.

It's people like this that have forced me to carry around the test kit officers use to test for this known substance. Known as the NIK Test E test kit.

I've been confronted numerous times and this way it shuts them up right away when I perform the test with the same equipment they use. Unfortunate, yes. However it is the climate we live in today and its better safe then sorry. I'd be outraged if my device was confiscated and/or I was arrested because they were unsure of what exactly was in my personal vaporizer.

I just bought a kit, thank you. Fools to the left of me, jokers to the right.

I had a local bar (in Texas) that did not allow smoking (smoking ban in my particular city). However vaping is authorized. I went in and spoke with the owner and we worked something out....
Vaping would not only be allowed, but encouraged. He had a local merchant open a small booth in his bar that sold premium flavors in small bottles (4 mil). Ego's were loaned out with licenses to people that did not have their own. There are a variety of tobacco flavors available. Our area Vapor Club holds their meeting and cloud chasing competitions there.
This idea has been well accepted by the bar as it now not only brings in vapors but assists people in what would be good for them to start with and a few of the bartenders are near experts in vaping as well. The last time I spoke with the owner, his bar sales have gone up by over 150%. Needless to say, I now have an open line at the bar as a thank you from the owner.

The banning of e cigs in places is the result of the same mentality that got cigarettes banned 25 feet from building entrances and every other regulation in place. Smokers would crush out their butts on the grounds right next to a .... receptacle.

Now we have people blowing clouds in restaurants causing them to ban the e cigs from the premises along with the almost daily newspaper articles and TV news reports concerning how dangerous the e cigs are.

As far as people smoking [moderated] in public areas goes that just adds fuel to the fire.

Putting aside not wanting to deal with the hassle of any legal issues: I have nothing to hide, thus if I were harassed by LE regarding 'funny smelling vapor/smoke' from my device I would have no problem with submitting to a drug test of any sort as it would be a "hey look!" for them...

This is purely theoretical and by no means would I want this to happen, just so everyone who reads this knows. :)

This is how it should be. The establishment creates their rules. You decide if you want to patronize it.

I fully support the owners of establishments setting the "rules" for what is and what is not allowed on their property, rather than the government setting the rules. Consumers will vote with their wallets.

It's MY house, I make the rules.

I have been stopped by cops 3 times in the last year and half or so. All three times the cops were respectful and did their little test kit thing quickly and sent me on my way. Even so that is a good 20 minutes or so I generally cannot spare at that exact moment. Not to mention this is a small town and the people driving by will have it all over town via gossip hotline that "OOOOOOOOO did you hear Myrany got stopped by the cops AGAIN?" It is embarrassing. Even so I will not stop vaping in my car. On the upside it being a small town pretty much all the cops now know about vaping LOL. It tends to be the new guys on the force that just don't know me.

Going to be honest here. The largest device I will leave the house with is an ego + CE setup, usually I just use a cigalike when out. The Provari and REO just stay at home. Part of that is public reaction but alot of it is tiny hands, arthritis and a much to thick steering wheel. I don't even try to vape in restaurants. Most here had the no vaping sign up before there were any other vapers in town that I knew about.

This is why I avoid vaping next to cops at stop lights, not really worried about it but I don't want to put up with the hassle. I already get enough looks from average people, some old ....... yelled at my wife at a stop light one day thinking she was getting high...he's lucky I wasn't with her.

It sucks but I saw this coming, "but it could be drugs!" yeah...I rolled my own cigs and you have no idea what I was putting in them either.....

Yeah, I refrain from vaping if im next to a cop or they are behind me. I dont have anything to worry about if they were to pull me over, but my instincts tell me its sort of a free shot to pull me over if they see that. And I know what you mean by "looks" from people who obviously dont have any idea what it is but think they do.

Funny thing...
I got pulled over this weekend. I was not speeding, my lights were working and my tags were in order... He said he could smell the vapor coming from my car and "knew it was not legal". Normally I have no issues working with the local constabulary, I actually mentioned this and pointed out my "back the blue" sticker on my car, however I did say that there is no possible way that he could smell anything from my car as my windows were rolled up and he was almost 50 feet behind me when he turned his lights on. I am/was a student of criminal law and knew his reason for me being pulled over was not too terribly legal, but was not going to pull that card as it tends to piss them off.
He demanded I surrender my whole unit to him and allow him to do a complete search of my vehicle, to this I refused. I told him that if he wanted to test the fluid in my tank he can do so, but he was not given permission to search my car. The officer again demanded my unit. I started to unscrew my Protank from my MVP, and was told that the entire unit was to be surrendered. This again I refused. Come to find out the officer did not have a drug kit in his car so he had to request another unit (the patrol supervisor) to show up on sight, to this I said "you know I think that is a FANTASTIC idea." I made a deal with the officer... he could control the tank and I would place the battery on the dash board and not touch it until the patrol supervisor arrived. I do know that technically speaking if it was positive for drugs, the unit and anything associated with it will be taken from me.
When the other officer arrived, (yes I am shortening this) the tank was tested and returned to me. At that time I registered a complaint against the original officer. Stating I was illegally detained for an offence that the officer was not willing to disclose. I took the supervisors card and the incident number. I will be contacting the office of internal affairs tomorrow (takes 48 hours) to make sure the complaint was filed.
Long story short... Know your rights, you can not be searched unless it is in the conduct of the line of duty. If you are pulled over because you are "sucking on a odd device" this is NOT reason for search at any time. If you were pulled over for another reason, this is a different story.

Very good story there. It sounds to me like you got one of them butthole cops. I really dislike those. They look for any reason to pull someone over.

As for the issue at hand. It is getting rediculas how they are becoming banned in places. Here in Indiana it is not for fear of illegal stuff in them. It is more so they seem think it is the same as smoking. Especially when it comes to the stupid government crack downs that are going on in certain places. They want to ban both E-Cigs and analogs in one fell swoop at places when they try to pass laws.
