Welcome to ECF, Dooter! And the addiction. ;)

Hey, at least you got a good starter model. Most of the time, when a newbie winds up spending more than they had to on a kit, it's not even a good model. So count yourself relatively lucky.

You will find what you like, and eventually, spend less money. I've found a handful of juices that I really love, and that's pretty much all I vape now. I found my vaping "sweet spot," as far as power goes, and now I'm looking for a mechanical mod that'll last for longer than I'm going to live, and that'll be pretty much the end of it.

The eGo is also a great e-cig. Plumes!! :D

I am so glad that you didn't go with the NJOY! That was my first PV and I ended up going back to analogs shortly after. I have the EGO/Tornado and I absolutely love it. I was a heavy smoker....1-1/2 packs a day and needed a battery that wouldn't die on me within a couple of hours. If you are a light to medium smoker, then the average 510 batt would be just fine. I also love that it is manual because the blinking lights drove me nuts. I could never tell if it was in cleaning mode or if it was dead. Initially, I also wanted my ecig to look like a cigarette, but now, I don't know why that even mattered :)

Hi Michelle & welcome! I also started with the KR808D-1 and still use - but if you're considering an eGo you might take a look at a Joye eGo USB Passthrough Battery - Joye eGo Passthru ... or ... Electronic Cigarette - Pass-throughs - Joye eGo - it is only the eGo battery without a Cone/Atomizer/Cartridge; However, I use my KR808D-1 Cartomizers on it with a very inexpensive 510 battery to 808/901 atomizer adapter PV Adapters

This is a very inexpensive way to experience the eGo without having to purchase a kit (charger, etc) and I am very happy with mine.

Hey there Dooter and welcome
"Plumes" is exactly what you get from an Ego. I worked my way up to one, got a starter kit plus a 900mah battery. I used the big battery for almost 17 hours before it gave out. Amazing. I haven't done an endurance check on the standard ones yet but I will. All the folks around here are very supportive and there are no stupid questions (a bonus for me). So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride :)

PS I used a KR8 setup for 2 weeks with no problems at all and, like you, read good things about the Ego and finally bought one. I couldn't be happier.
Take care
Richard

I see you found the new addiction to be more enjoyable, I look at it as the lessor of two evils and once you get used to vaping you discover you'll have more control over the addiction. RMV is where I get my juice too, they have some great flavors. I recommend Red Energy, it's like vaping some Rockstar (Redbull) since you like the sweet stuff. Also when looking to your next PV purchase I recommend the Riva, it's just like the eGo and receives great reviews not to mention it's under $40 at liberty-flights.

Me too. I just traded away and gave away all my tobacco flavors. Can't stand the taste; makes me want to wretch.

No joke. The day I ordered all my stuff the biggest bottle of juice I ordered was a tobacco flavor that is supposed to taste like Pall Malls. Well, when I first tasted it I thought it was nasty. Now, after nearly quitting analogs, I realize it DOES taste like Pall Malls... Nasty as ever. I thought I would need tobacco flavors to keep the "feeling". Nope. I enjoy all the other flavors I've been trying. I can't wait to get my own custom 'Malibu Rum and Coke' I created from Gourmet Vapor. I hope it tastes similar! ;)
