Hey Everyone!

I'm Michelle, and I'm in Phoenix, AZ.

I started vaping about 2 weeks ago - and while I really had no designs on quitting cigarettes (I really just wanted to cut back, to be honest), it turns out that vaping is SOOO much better and satisfying that I can't even handle smoking a cigarette anymore! I tried to smoke an "analog" (as I've noticed you all call them) on Halloween, and had to put it out after 3 puffs - it felt like I was inhaling dirt. :-x And I used to LOVE the taste of my Marlboro's!

I am vaping on a KR808D-1 manual that I ordered from v2cigs.com... I now realize that I could have gotten the same thing for much cheaper elsewhere, but being lost in the myriad of choices and websites that the noobie faces when looking into e-cigs for the first time, I feel pretty lucky to have found them for my first e-cig. :)

I quickly figured out that I could refill the cartomizers with all KINDS of tasty flavors of e-liquid, so that's what I've been doing... I'm currently in LOVE with Rocky Mountain Vapor's "Cotton Candy", and I find that I really can't even handle the "tobacco" flavors anymore (although I do have some RY4 coming to me in my current order from RMV - we'll see how that goes). :w00t:

So while I'm "saving" all kinds of $$$ that I would have spent on cigarettes, it's all going to e-liquid, LOL! And I'm saving for a Joye Ego. At least I *think* that's the one I want to upgrade to! Who knows... I'm still a little confused on all the different models and combinations.

Well, nice to meet you all!

Welcome to ECF! E-juice without a doubt is much cheaper then analogs, a 30ml bottle which is like 8 bucks, is a hundred times more vapping capacity then a pack of smokes would be for 8 dollars. You'll find that your initial purchase of liquids and atty's and your kit is a bit of an investment, but the price of cigarettes will quickly out weigh your new 'addiction'. And about the ry4, its a sweet flavour, so you might like it, its not so much tobacco flavour as a sweet flavor, but it's yours to judge!

just take the cash you were spending on smokes everyday. and stick it in a jar in your closet. next time you need juice go look at the jar. you would not believe how much will be there if you really stay true to adding the cash when you are supposed to. i ended up buying a nice mod after a month with my ego. and still had lots left over for juice and supplies...lol
p.s the ego is an awsome pv..... its good to have lots of batt life

I think that's what it is - the initial investment and then buying all kinds of e-liquids to figure out what I like - that's making it seem like I'm blowing more $$$ than I'm saving.

I really do like the Ego... I wish I could find someone that has one so that I can try it out first. I looked briefly at the Ego when I was shopping for my first e-cig, but quickly dismissed it because it DEFINITELY didn't look like a real cigarette - it's funny how your opinion of that goes out the window after you've started vaping!

I really like my EGO, just being the Heavy vaper I am I grew tired of constantly charging batteries I know many people get 6-8 hours out of them... me I'd recharge 4 a day, hence the reason I stepped up to a big mod (that looks more like a dope pipe than any resemblance to a cig LOL) but now I have super battery life and my AVS tank holds a good 6ml of juice, so I'm not constantly refilling or dripping.

Hi and welcome! I did the same thing--my first PV just had to look like a cigarette! I only used it for a week or so (an Njoy Npro which was crap imo) then I ordered a 510 and couldn't be happier. I've tossed around the idea of an Ego but don't wanna cough up the $ right now! Check out cignot.com for supplies, they have the cheapest prices I've seen. Congrats on quitting!!

Wait for a decent sale/coupon code and just get an ego battery and charger your 510 atty/carts/carto's will work thats how I did it since I already had a 510. MFS had a 40% off coupon code that would get you 1 650mah ego battery, charger, and cone for $20, or the 900mah instead of 650 for a few dollars more.

HWAA! I was *this* close to getting the Njoy Npro too! I had "Njoy" and "Joye" mixed up - I think I didn't realize they were 2 different companies at the time. Njoy is located very close to me, so I was just going to go pick a starter kit up from them in person. I remember thinking "I don't know what everyone is raving about with these things..." - thinking that it was the same brand as Joye. LOL!!!

I will check out cignot.com - thanks!

The eGO will be a great step up, and once you find the 1 or 2 juices that you like, you'll be in vapor's heaven. Check out Gourmet Vapor they are having a 50% off sale that runs through tomorrow on all of their juices, which are excellent. The discount code is: box50

YEAH, cool beans!!! Thanks!

IMHO, play with your KR for a bit and before you spend any more money on an upgrade, really evaluate what you want in your next one. The ego is a good PV (I have an EGO-like PV, a LUX from modern vapor with a 900mah battery and I still use it and love it) but after vaping for a bit over a month I'm already looking at mods. A friend gave me a 5v box mod and I was blown away at the difference in vapor and taste. But, remember, taste is very subjective. What one person loves another will hate. 5v vaping is warmer, some don't like that, some love it.

Like I said, before you upgrade, first decide how much you see yourself vaping, how much battery life you really want to have (do you mind charging a battery 1-3x/d, or do you want one that lasts 1-2 days). Do you mind filling carts and cartomizers, or does that annoy you? They have juice fed mods like the reo mini/reo grand which are still pretty small but takes away from having to keep refilling.

I bought 3 PV's out of the excitement of vaping before I gave myself the chance to really know what I wanted. I would have saved a lot of money if I had stayed with the first one and evaluated my needs.

Good luck, welcome to ECF and congrats on quitting!! ;)

In my short time vaping, I've realized that I never rationalized the cost for analogs because I was going to buy them no matter what. Most smokers don't even have a clue as to how much they spend each month. I took a first-time home buyers class a while back, and that topic came up. The teacher said that people who smoke tend to find themselves in a 25-50K lower shopping price than they thought, just because they don't factor a smoking "budget".

Now that I am switching, I've allocated the same dollar amount that I burned out of each paycheck until I find my sweet spot with juice and hardware. After that . . . it'll be like a huge bonus check each month. If I tuck away $200 each month from my expired analog purchases, I'll have $2,400 in a year. $2,400.

Hi Michelle and welcome to the forums! I bought my 510 starter kit and extra parts from Cignot as well! They have great prices and fast shipping, also great customer service!
I LOVE sweet juice too and was pretty lucky. I got the 2 bottles of juice with my kit, which I didn't care too much for and then ordered from freedomsmokeusa. I started with the fireball, almond joy and loved them both. Now I also have caramel cream, banana cream pie, hopscotch, butterscotch almond, cappuccino smooth.....I think I'm way more addicted to their juice than I ever was the analogs, if that's possible lol. I would try small (5ml bottles) of each kind that you think you would like, with any company and go from there. Keep in mind though, I know fsusa's juice has to steep (age) a couple of weeks and many of the juices that you tried might have to do the same if they're hand-mixed fresh
Now, about the Ego- I've heard nothing but great things about these and Cignot does sell genuine Joyetech products. That is a big factor for me and why I ordered my 510's from them. I've been using the original parts that came with my kit for over 2 months and they're still going strong (knocking on wood right now lol)
Good luck and happy vaping!!!

The only positive thing with "analog" smoking is that your just getting your nicotine fix..other than that smoking analogs taste nasty, smell nasty, makes you smell nasty, makes your breath nasty, harms you, harms others through second hand smoke, etc. Vaping is the complete OPPOSITE of all that; except you STILL get your nicotine fix. Its virtually oderless, doesnt stink up yourself or your breath, healthier and the variety of juice flavors will please your taste buds and help keep you on your quest to avoid analogs! Keep on vaping! Save money and your health!:vapor:

Regarding the eGo, Liberty Flights sells their Riva kits (essentially identical to eGos, with 750mAh batteries) for 29.99. They're out of stock, but they've promised new kits "in a couple of weeks." Keep your eyes on this page: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

After starting with the crappy ones I got from 7-11, I did the research here for several days, and this is what I decided on myself. After about a week and a half, I am very pleased with it. The battery will last me nearly two days, and I smoke anywhere from a half a cig to 3 a day, and that's even as a beer drinker. If you aren't a drinker it would probably be much easier. The questions are basically what is it that you need, such as battery life (do you mind recharging a few times a day for a slim PV?), using atty's/carto's, refilling and how often you do so, etc. Keep reading these forums and asking questions. I asked what I assume some would consider "dumb" questions, but I always got a prompt and respectful answer from everyone, so I don't think there are any dumb questions to these folks. Ask anything and everything. They sincerely want to help you do what is right for you.
