Well, today was that day - it started last night when I couldn't get my son's prescription and had spent almost 3 hours on the phone, only to have to buy two so he had them (they are like 14 dollars a pil)....then, I had work today, and it was really busy - this one lady (who is nice enough and everything...) comes in and wants to chat forever and do things for half an hour...she REALLY smells like smokes - more than maybe anyone except how I used to be....well, I don't LIKE the smell anymore...but between being too busy, a million hours on the phone, being ticked about a bunch of stuff today (work, home things, bill stuff, kid stuff....just more than normal) , and having no time to take even a one minute break - I just REALLY wanted a smoke - I don't even know why.....

I did run to the door and hit my vape once just so I could last through the rest of this day...it helped some, but I realize tonight, I am just still feeling "off" or something.....I have been super vaping all night, but I am NOT crazy about this nagging feeling :(

I have 6 months in in just two and a half weeks...okay, pointless rant over....

Well congratulations on getting through the day without that analog!! But days like that push any one to the limit, I have emphysema and not been vaping very long. I vape 24mg nicotine trying various flavors. I vape to get off the analogs tar and lung damaging chemicals not to torture myself so I vape the 24mg nic' if I go lower I crave a cigarette..so I stay at 24mg.
But quit analogs on June 15 or so cheated a couple of times till about July then none (couldn't stand the taste) my lungs feel a lot better, I don't smell like an ashtray I can actually vape in the house and in some buildings. I smoke for 58 years (70 now).
don't know what nic strength you vape but if you smoked more than a pack a day I would say 24Mg nic stops the analog craving faster and gives you that fix faster than the lower nic levels.
Hang in to vaping you'll be better off in the long run believe me...I only got 1/3 my lung capacity left form analogs.

You did good not to cave in and have a cigarette :toast:

I agree with Stosh, get some higher mg juice for days like today and don't be afraid to use it for a few minutes if you need it. I remember back in my first year getting hit out of the blue with a strong desire for a cigarette around 6 months and again at about the 1 yr mark. It showed me that no matter how much I THOUGHT I was done with smoking it really wouldn't have been all that difficult back then to return to it.

Ya done good !! ...:toast:

You might consider some stronger eliquid in an 'emergency' tank for when the stress get that bad. It would be like taking a straight shot instead of just a glass of wine at the end of the day. Sometimes you just need that extra jolt.

I am vaping 24mg right now...have since I quit - LOL, maybe I need to mix up something stronger for days like that :) Today was much better...thank God

I have had a few days like that. Good job on not caving in. You know it would (prolly) taste terrible, anyway!
As much as I hate the smell now, LOL, I can't even imagine what that would taste like :/ ewwwww.....but days like that one SUCK!!!!

I am prouder of you than you are of me :D **huge proud grin**
My mom died of emphysema (she would have been 67 this year) and my dad had so many strokes and then died of lung cancer... , and seeing someone like you make it and vape makes me feel so happy I could actually just jump up and down ((hugs))

I still vape at 24mg always...I was a two pack a day smoker....maybe more actually...I made my own cigarettes, so i never really kept count :( But with almost 6 months down - I just couldn't do it...and I am really a weak person when it comes to smokes (I tried to quit at least 15 times before I started vaping)

It didn't seem all that difficult to go find the purse with the two cigarettes in it...but just glad I didn't do it - I am going to make some emergency super high nic...LOL, I may give myself a headache....but it would be worth it to make sure I don't cave.....just when you think "i have this beat" - that thing rears its ugly smelly face at me...just reminds me to stay humble and on track :D Love you guys - I so appreciate that you listen to my crazy rants - LOL!!!

Glad to hear today is better....:)
I vaped 36mg/mL for about the first year and a half, before cutting down to 30mg/mL, it was easier to my DIY at 30.
I'm down to 15-18mg/mL now, years later.
It broke my 40+ years of smoking, that's all I focused on.

I mix up my own...so I can play with it a little - I wonder sometimes if I don't maybe need a little higher nic in the morning too - it is my problem time of the day - makes it a little hard to get out of bed when I know I am going to have these weird behavior based cravings in the morning :( I was just always worried to go higher than 24 because that seemed to be the standard high dose?? I really don't think it would hurt me though - LOL!!

We had an incident with my 34 year old par schizo live-in son last week and I just vaped and vaped and for some reason fell asleep and it was better the next morning. Vaping is better because you can keep on doing it if you know what I mean.

Oh so sorry about the problems with your son :( That makes everything harder... (I have a 17 year old autistic son, so some days are NOT good...so yep, some days I vape then nap..LOL!) Just keep vaping on no matter what the smoke monster throws at me :D

Xena...glad you made it through!

I've had a couple of those in the last six months..some stressor...oh I need a vape!

Ed & I keep one tank with a 24mg with a red tip..EMERGENCIES!! *lol*

I've tried to make that leap from 12mg to 6mg..I can't just yet..I do the 12mg in the mornings with coffee, switch up in the afternoons to a 6mg...then that "tea time" hit the 12mg ..then some 6mg in the evenings..when relaxing for the day. It sure helps with the cravings.

congrats!! :)

Oi, at least your battery didn't die! That happened to me an i be in, smoked a menthol and since I was vaping menthol all week it didn't taste like anything. (I found menthol smokes to be just disgusting prior). Did I feel better? Nope. In fact? I found myself all anxious, jittery and mad angry for about 45 minutes after. Not at myself, I'm on attempt number two with quitting via vaping and it was only after about 6 days but one must remember, a cigarettes good for what? 5 minutes then you're left being a slave to those cravings, coughing, headaches, and whatever else that comes long term.

One day, I plan to quit vaping too.

Thanks!! LOL!!! So funny your emergency is what I vape at all day!! I have thought about dropping back nicotine (you are doing GREAT btw!!) and I have decided well, not to...maybe not ever actually - but as long as I am vaping and not smoking - I am not gonna worry about it :D

I am proud of you for giving it another go!! That was my one big fear that if I had one, I won't be able to quit again - so that was a pretty good motivator - I think like that 5 minutes could be the 5 minutes that will kill me. :O (I can be so dramatic - LOL!!) I never want to wake up in the middle of the night again feeling like someone put my lungs underwater and then suck on an inhaler that doesn't do anything - just a scary feeling, and I never want three straight months of bronchitis again. So, somehow, all this keeps me on track when I feel like I am going to punch something :D

I actually had a battery die in the car the other day....my hubby had stolen my back up LOL, so I did NOT have a good trip home, but I just vaped my brains out when I got here - LOL!!!
I never plan on quitting vaping actually, but it sounds like you will make it (already way low on nic :D )...unless someone tells me it is as bad as smoking and can prove it :/.....then I am going to do both and say screw it... :vapor:

Did you smoke? Are you a dual user? Cravings do pop up for some people, myself included. But it sounds like you keep in mind why you quit and don't want bronchitis attack again. This is the best tool to have. I too still get surprise cravings once in awhile and sometimes can go on a day or two. But then I am fine for weeks. I am having one of these moments the past couple days off and on. It really is a hard craving this time because I haven't had a craving in a long time. It gets frustrating too when it's been almost a year. But like I said after this passes for both of us we should be good for a while. Hang in there!

I only vape now :D I smoked two (or maybe more) packs a day for the last 5 years, and smoked a pack a day since I was 18. I know EXACTLY what you are saying!! I thought at almost 6 months in - I would be done with this....but we hit the bad couple days at the same time - LOL!! It is so frustrating!! But it is gonna pass for both of us - I am doing a lot better today - I hope you are too....just hard when you think you have it licked, huh? :(

We'll the thing is I know I have it licked but only because I keep it fresh in my mind why I quit in the first place. I have been quit for awhile now and I know these cravings do hit but I know they get less and less between. Just sucks that we still get them from time to time after mths of quitting. My husband gets zero cravings. I am happy for him but I think he needs a smack lol

That's what keeps me there on days like that, and in the mornings when I have it the hardest - I KNOW I needed to quit or else - and I have two kids who remind me why everyday :D And yeah, lucky hubby...**smack** LOL!!! Mine has better morning than me - drives me crazy cause he just started vaping a couple weeks ago - LOL...gonna smack him too - especially in the morning when I'm grumpy bear :D

Hang in there. I've had weeks like that. I succumbed to it but am back on track. Congrats on making it through.

Thanks so much! I have no idea how I made it...LOL, just afraid I won't be able to get back on the wagon like you did :D

Congrats on not giving in! Hopefully your fingernails faired better than mine do on those days.

Thanks so much!! And nope, the not so good nails I had are history....LOL!!
