One of my coils is burning juice faster

I have been having a consistent problem. I am running twin parallel dual coils 6 wraps on my mech mod and they are great. I heat them up and pinch them so they glow from in the middle and heat up and the same rate. I then wick my coils and saturate the wicks.... The vapor is great all around ,but when I open up my deck to check juice one of my coils will be damn near bone dry and the other would have a soaked wick. So I soak the oddly sick and watch them heat up and it is obvious one is working overtime to the other. I am not sure why it's doing this and couldn't find anyone else who has asked the same question... Anyone else run into this problem and find a solution.

Great - it's kind of hard to see, but it looks like you are using cotton. If that's so, it kind of looks a bit tight on the one that's on the right.

When doing cotton wicks, you want just enough cotton to kind of drag a little bit as it passes through the coil. Cotton swells when it gets wet.

Make a troubleshooting checklist of all things that can cause uneven vapor production.

1. Even number of wraps?
2. All terminals tight and making a good connection?
3. Air flow open on both sides?
4. Coils positioned in same place in relation to air holes on each side?
5. Evenly wicked?
6. Leg length match on each side?
7. Same gauge wire on each coil?
8. Top cap touching one coil.
9. I can't think of anything else...

I know some of those are highly unlikely, but that is generally how I go about solving problems. Eliminate all possible causes until I find the right one.

I had this very same problem yesterday,
Running duel coils with 30 kanthanl.

I ended up re-wicking with Japanese cotton pads, I was using cotton bacon before and I think my problem was that although my coils were even, the cotton wicks weren't.

Using the Japanese cotton pads I could easily make sure I was using the same amount of cotton, just cut a slice from the pad using scissors, split the slice in half and roll evenly, my problem was then solved.

Hope this helps.

Everyone else is right, however I'd like to add that it's a fairly common problem and dual+ really does add a lot of complexity over single, so you aren't alone. Aside from wicking, there are so many variables involved; from the amount of tension used when winding the coils, to how close the coils already were when you fired them the first time and they became oxidized before you started pinching, to needing to adjust the leg lengths on one of the coils (one that is heating slower needs shorter legs).

e.g., wicks are the same > coils are properly compressed, and if that doesn't work > shorten the legs on the one heating slower.
