yup. built my father an i7 920 or 930(dont remember exact proc) with an intel ssd x-25, and DAMN! that thing is disgustingly fast.

I seem to be okay with this Q8300 but I've heard nothing but good about the I7
My biggest problem is definitely the regular hard drive

The only problem I have with this cpu is that most of my old apps only use one core..

I get around that sometimes by running multiple instances and taking advantage of affinity settings but it's still a pain

Thanks for putting up with me when I was drinking last yesterday ... ... I had a great time, and then, I had the sense to not finish the second bottle ... Very pleased that I didn't, NOW!!! Getting too darned old for that .... now, wow.
