Just 2 for me. Working on #3.

There are a few smokers on both sides of our families. (But Mrs. Kodiak’s side not only smokes… most are just plain stupid to boot). Since I started to vape the word is out that I, Kodiak… king of the smoke shop and connoisseur of cheap cigarettes had quit after 35 years of subsidizing most of the country’s health care spending with the cigarette taxes I paid. Many people still refuse to believe I quit and at least a dozen think I have lung cancer with only days to live. (Which explains the fresh cooked meals showing up at the door and why folks I’ve ...... off are now being nice to me).

So I gave some Joye 510’s to a niece… made her some DIY “banana” crap and she’s off the smokes now for 2 weeks. (And ordering stuff on her own - she has better gear than me). Same goes for a brother-in-law but finding the whiney ....... a flavor he could vape all day was tough. Finally did it though. 10 days free for him.

I’m working on a neighbor right now. He relapsed because vaping just doesn’t give hime the same nicotine “rush” as real smoking (he says). I finally told him that vaping will only deliver about a third the nicotine levels he’s accustomed to if he vapes like he smokes. He’s stepped it up now and so far so good.

I don’t seek these people out. They just come to my house to chat (and drink all my beer). But those that want to make the transition to vaping I make it clear their first lesson is “ingredients” and what vaping really is compared to smoking. I tell them they need to know this because one day *they will* be accused of smoking so they must be prepared to educate their accusers with facts. I'm running out of Joye's and chargers. Ordered more. I think the Feds/ANTZ are going to shut me down if they get wind of this.

So again, how many notches you all have on your PV’s?

Thanks for your story, Kodiak! So glad you are spreading the good word out there in the frozen tundra. Alaska does have frozen tundra, right?:) Keep it up!

I only have one convert at present, my 22 year old granddaughter, but she is loving it and going strong.

I have a really stubborn son-in-law who is guaranteed to NEVER do something if anyone talks to him about it, so I'm biding my time with him. Flashed my MVP 2 around at a family birthday party this weekend. Talked to my daughter (right by him) about it, and pointedly ignored him. Curiosity will get that cat, sooner or later.

My niece has smoked for about 10 years, but is "scared" to vape. She is teachable, and I'm working on her whenever she comes over. I actually got her to take a puff, and she realized the sky didn't fall, so there's hope.

I have supplied ecigs for several friends, but the most good I've done is to vape in public places and educate the people who walk up with curiosity and ask questions. Several times a week people stop me and ask me about vaping. My wife kind of hated that because I'm usually the only one in the mall vaping on the concourse.

She went with me to the local B&M (Stormy's Vapor Cellar) and was amazed that the place was packed. There were about 25 people in the store looking and buying and trying juices at that time and it was loud and crowded. She commented that I'm the only one she sees vaping in public. Since that day she has realized that most people must be bashful about vaping out in the open.

If we don't show it off respectfully, how are others going to realize that others are vaping, too? Vape openly and with respect and people will walk up and talk to you out of curiosity. Everyone has a relative who smokes and they want to know if it works, does it taste good, did I quit by using it, and where can they get one for their brother-in-law. We are all advertisers of the best way to quit smoking if we demonstrate the product.

None yet but doesn't mean I don't try. But i can thank a family friend who is a teacher for getting me to look back into them (used the stupid cig like ones before). I figured if a teacher will use one so can I. Now she ask me questions and I was able to pay her back by running to my house on Thanksgiving to get her a couple coils i wasnt using before she went out to get a pack of smokes :D
