Hey everyone!

Recently I've switched to vaping 100% pre-mixed VG juices. As expected, the flavor is muted. But this time I ordered some flavoring base so that I can play around with the taste of the pre-mixed VG juice. My question is if I add some additional flavoring will it help taste stronger? And if yes, how much should I add? I don't know how much flavor my supplier put in there but the recipe is 80% VG , 20% Distilled Water and 3 mg nic strength for a 30 ml bottle.

Thanks!

What Danny said...

You can add some distilled water to the VG to help thin it some for better wicking.
This also helps the flavor to blend in somewhat easier/faster, but will still take a few days.
And soaking your final mixture in a cup of hot water, (not boiling), helps with the blending process too.
You can do this several times...

What you suggest is also true but the OP is already at 20% DW so adding more will likely make it to thin resulting in leaking issues with the hardware. Another fact is that PG is a better flavor desolver then VG. Your suggestion to heat the mix in hot water is also a very good suggestion to speed up steeping but more heat time is needed then just filling a cup with warm water a few times. There are other methods to help speed the steep process which can be read about in my blog.

Everything you wanted to know about steeping and then some.

Adding more flavouring will help. But is there a reason you have max VG? I ask because I myself am allergic to PG and can only vape max VG blends and although I don't feel the pg in the flavourings, as you begin to add more you may react to the pg in the flavouring depending on how sensitive you are

Oops, guess I missed the fact he's already using DW, my bad.
I would have suggested an UC for steeping, but not everyone has, or wants, to buy one.
The hot bath thing is just a "quick fix", ie better than nothing.
Good you posted that link tho, much more info...

Adding more flavoring is not always the answer. Sometimes adding more flavoring to an already saturated mix will actually reduce flavor. It's always better to steep first for the correct amount of time. Then after steeping is complete add more flavoring if desired. I based my answer on the OP having pre-mixed juice bought at a vape shop or online and would assume the person mixing knows the correct amount of flavoring to add. But then again assuming the mixer knows what they are doing is also wishful thinking:)

Thanks for the link! For now I'm not going to add any flavor, I'll do several warm baths and steep it in a dark cool place and see how if improves with time.

Speaking of pre-mixed juice, I trust this supplier with their mixes but you're right, you can never know. I also have a 40mg of pre-mixed flavorless 80 VG 20 DW 3mg nic juice laying somewhere, what would be the best amount of flavor to add to that mix?

I once had a VG vendor juice that just tasted weak and watery. A month later didn't seem to make much difference. Two months later it was surprisingly superb! My peppermint or vanilla DIY all VG mixes are "shake n vape" but the fruits and complex mixes have varying steeping times. Tuck it away and check in on it every week or two. You may be surprised.

Percentages vary with brand and flavor as well as personal taste. Which flavorings did you buy?

I want to use FlavorWest Blueberry for this one.

FW Blueberry was kinda bitter, to me, and I ended up at 16% to taste it.
This was even with adding TFA 3% Vanilla Swirl and TFA 2% Sweet Cream.
When I mixed %5 FW Blueberry with 6% TFA Blueberry it was way better.
But I prefer 10% TFA Blueberry Wild or 3% FA Bilberry, as I prefer the flavor/taste.
