I never thought I'd want to do this, it always looked too fiddly & I always thought why go through the stress when you can buy them pre-made!!

REBUILDING A KANGER HEAD!!!

And buying them pre-made was going great, I loved the wick/coil the guy on ebay made. I never had an issue with them until recently I discovered the guys stopped doing them & I dont know if his going to be putting them up again.

Anyway I don't think I appreciated how good they were until ordering from someone else & non of liquids really tasted the same (I have hundreds of different flavours). But I have actually been quite interested recently in making my own coil/wick for my kangers.

So here's the deal:

I like my coils between 1.8ohms - 2.4 ohms depending on the tank and liquid I'm using at the time.

Am I right in thinking to get this resistance I need 32g A1 kanthal wire? If not what wire do I need?

I dont really think cotton is for me at the moment with what sounds like a pretty much everyday wick change. So I thought I'd start with Silica and venture into eko-wool later on.

I think the premade silica coils I was ordering were 3mm, but I want to be able to use these for dual coil as well as single coil. Would 2.5mm be best?

I'm sorry, I have read so many different things today my head is fried and I've had information over load. I'm mainly using a MVP v2 until I find something to upgrade from that.

Really appreciate any help with this as I want to order this tonight so I can start making these or at least attempting to :)

Very straight forward. 30g kanthal, 1/16" drill bit to rape your coil in. Rayon cellucotton wick from Sally beauty...and watching coulee you tube videos.. You will be in heaven, and your wick could last a week. Total cost around 20 bucks that can last you forever.
Or, take one step up, kayfun clone and same as above, total cost will be around 55 bucks....you will never look back after that !

I attempted to rebuild kanger heads a few times. Used 32 ga kanthal, silica and cotton. Cotton worked best but neither was that good. Wrapped the coil on a 5/64 drill bit. Leaks and burnt taste was my payback for the efforts.

If you are going to go through the effort of rebuilding. Get yourself a kayfun and do it right. I own 4 and have 4 more 'coming soon'. Just love 'em.
