One week no analogs! but these batteries suck Joye 510

My mom hasnt had a real cigarette in one whole week! Thank you to everyone who helped me figure everything out and guide me through this first purchase.

I have to ask though..I got my mom a Joye 510 with two manual battery's that came in the kit and one mega battery.The two regular batteries go about only 2 hours,and the mega battery about 4 hours..is this normal? or are they supposed to go a bit longer? thanks!

That's totally normal and the big major drawback of the 510. All is not lost! There are a couple of options for you - yes, they both involve buying something unfortunately.

*you could get an eGo battery and charger - the eGo battery will last about 6-8 hours depending on how much she uses it. All the 510 parts you have can be used with the eGo battery.

*you could get a 510 PCC - it's like a cigarette case that will charge the batteries when she goes out.

So if the problem is that she's out and about and the batteries die, then a PCC would work out. But if the problem is that it's a PITA to be constantly changing batteries, then you need an eGo battery or two.

I often kill my Joye 510 batteries within 45 minutes to an hour of use. I got tired of swapping them out/waiting on the charger. 4 days of dealing with this, I went ahead and upgraded to 4 Egos. Life is much simpler now

so if i wanted to get the Ego,all i would need to buy is the Ego battery/Ego Mega Battery? does it use all the 510 carts/attys/charger?

You would need a new charger as well. At least I did. The ego battery does not fit into my 510 charger. I think there is an extender that you can use, but I'm not entirely sure on that. Plus, the Ego charger would charge the Ego faster.. just don't stick the 510 into the Ego charger (can blow up the 510 battery).

You can use the same atty's and carts on the ego, though.

You can either buy the kit or just buy the batteries BUT for the charger, you either need to

*get an adapter (maybe $5-$10) so you can use the same charger you already have, but it'll take a long time to charge or....
*get an eGo charger (maybe $15) and it'll take the normal amount of time to charge

You can charge an eGo on a 510 charger (with and adapter) but you can't charge a 510 on an eGo charger.

But all the rest of the stuff will work on it as is; carts, cartos, atty

You have to have an Ego charger for the Ego battery. Do not use any other charger whatever you do. Stary all the rest is correct. The Mega Ego is my fav. The Ego pass thru is my all time fav, as I sit at a desk all the time.

I get my Ego stuff at Liberty Flights and Good Prophets.

That's about right for 180mah battery and a 280mah battery. Since ecig batteries are making heat they are working pretty hard when you are vaping. I actually get 3+ hours out of a 180mah battery but I am not a heavy vaper. I use a charger at work and a PCC on the go.

if you want really long battery life you need something like Ego or Riva 510 and I think there are various much higher mah batteries for those.

You can charge your Ego on the 510 charger, just need this: 510 - 510 Charging Adapter

I'm a noob too... was going for the 510 when I read this thread. It seems Ego batteries are rated for around 650MaH which is A LOT more than the standard 180 MaH of the 510s.... think I'm gonna go with that.

You won't be disappointed with a Joye eGo, they have good battery life with good flavor and vapor.

This was my original setup as well. 3 x 510 bats with a PCC. I never had a problem keeping a fresh battery with this config.

Actually the batteries don't suck, technically speaking, the vaper does... bada boom... I use the eGo mostly but I love the size and shape of my trusty 510. It's just nice hand candy. 3 batteries and a PCC, you can go all day uninterrupted.

I use eGo 650 batteries and tend to get 8-10 hours of use before a recharge.

I've found that it's actually more economical to buy an eGo kit. If you price out all the components, spending $40 for a kit on sale is a better deal. Having the extra charger is convenient and I can always use the extra attys. Since I only drip, I carry a few of the pre-filled carts from the kit with me, which makes it really easy to let someone try out my eGo. If you grab some ECF business cards, you can hand that to the person, along with the cart they tried.
