So tha vapors tongue is now 2 weeks plus and I can't get a throat hit to save my life! Is this a normal part of vapors tongue. Is it normal for it to last this long? I am going stark raving mad here. I thought my taste was coming back to me so I was a happy camper but it soon fled again. I really love vaping and this extended bought with the vapors tongue is starting to make me crave a smoke. I have been one of the lucky ones so far and have not wanted a smoke since I started vaping three weeks ago. Overjoyed I am. But no TH and no taste is taking it's toll. I am chain vaping like mad of course. I drive atruck so I vape all day long. I do not get headaches so my only warning of too much nicotine is heart flutters. Oops!! Vaping 18mg and have 8 different flavors, some minty, one cinnamon red hot. The 24mg pushes. E to far very quickly at the rate I vape.

I guess this vent session is asking does the vapors tongue have anything to do with age and how much, how long you smoked? I am 50 and was 2+ PAD for 24 years. As a side question does the lavor Junior Mintz need a glass tank?

Thanks for listening to my rant and for the love of God give me some good news!!!!

I believe vaping can dry you out a bit too? Try drinking a bit more fluids, and try taking slower/longer pulls when vaping. FYI - Am a retired driver myself, smoked 30+ years at 2 packs a day, and quit last AUG. Keep with it, it is so worth it, and I never looked back - the toys, flavors, savings - and all the other good stuff makes it worth doing.

PG and VG are humectants...
A humectant is a substance used primarily in foods and cosmetic products to help retain moisture. These substances are called hygroscopic, which means that they are able to absorb ambient water. These hygroscopic compounds posses a chemical structure that attracts water from the atmosphere and binds it to various sites along the molecule.

When we inhale PG/ VG it "traps" the moisture in our mouth, throat and nasal area and thus the vapor. The real problem arises when the body is dehydrated and begins "stealing" moisture from other parts of the body to keep key organs hydrated. Add to that more than 3 cups of java or caffeine based soda drinks and severe dehydration can occur. I drink 3+ liters of water per day and no more than 3 cups Java per day.

I drank 10+ cups java per day and Coca Cola. When I first began vaping I was well aware of the dehydration issue but being the knucklehead I am wanted to test this “theory”. Within less than a week I had itchy skin, dry nasal area, sore throat, headaches, juices tasting funky and very poor vapor. I began hydrating and within 2-3 days everything was back to normal.

Should I go ahead and vape some 24mg? I'm just getting little satisfaction right now and used to smoking alot while I drive.

NOT recommending this to everyone but I smoked very strong Rez (reservation tobacco) 1 1/2 PAD for 44 yrs. Started at 36 mg X 50- 60 ml per week. Most begin @ 18 or 24 mg. If the 24 is too strong you could always mix 50% 18 mg + 50% 24 mg to end up with 21 mg. Understand too that the delivery of nicotine via smoking is a far more efficient delivery system cuz the nicotine can enter the bloodstream via the lungs. With vaping the nicotine vapor particles are too large to enter via the lungs- most is absorbed via the mouth and nasal areas so nicotine delivery by way of vaping is a very inefficient nicotine delivery system.
Sorry if I'm rambling but had a really busy workday and now awake 22 hrs.

Hydration is probably the most important factor. Caffeine has been shown to not be as much of an issue as it once was thought to be, so you can still have your tea and/or coffee without worrying about dehydration. It's those that never drink other fluids that have to worry about being dehydrated. Caffeine gets a bad rap for dehydrating you, when it really doesn't do anything more than act as a stimulant (for some) - there's a medical report on this, I'll have to see if I can find it.

That said, chain vaping will definitely lessen the sensation you get from your nic, as will lower amounts of PG / higher amounts of VG. You'll also see less of a throat hit if you stick with the same flavor day in, day out. Me personally, I vape about 4-6 flavors a day so TH doesn't become an issue unless I just forget to drink something (it happens when you stay busy).

I used to drink a gallon of water a day and over a weeks time, you notice more so what it feels like to be hydrated versus dehydrated. If you're not much of a water drinker, I wouldn't suggest starting with that much as you could over-hydrate (which is much worse than being dehydrated - you'll get headaches, feel lousy, potentially get sick - more so because you *can* overdo it when it comes to drinking water).

You can also buy hydrating lozenges from halls. They make various flavors and they're in the same aisle as cough drops. They work wonders and I need to pick some up myself. They keep your mouth moist and prevent you from getting a dry throat/tongue which eventually kills the flavor for you.

Went to sleep and forgot to post this
Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 3- 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like - many of us believe PG to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. Some find they have a sensitivity to PG and lower the amount of PG.
Many are now moving towards vaping a 50/ 50 PG/ VG ratio as they find it gives a smoother vape.

Agreed. I drink pretty much nothing but tea all day, about a gallon of it, with the exception of some coffee in the morning (and the occasional beer). It's been studied and, despite what was previously thought, there's more than enough water in tea-- even with the caffeine-- to keep a person well hydrated.

I don't drink many soadas but I do drink 2 or 3 Full Throttle energy drinks to keep me going throughout the cay. I also have a 52oz cup that I fill with ice water every morning and sip on thru the day. Strangely tho if I drink to much water, and that is nowhere near the amounts everyone here is talking about, I get heartburn. I have no idea why, but it has been that way for a long time.

I am slowing down on the vape today, (trying to restrain myself) and going to drink more water. Also going to get some lemon juice whenever I can get by a grocery store. I really appreciate all the helpful suggestions and advice everyone has offered.

Thanks a bunch. :vapor:
