Online or instore?

Hey guys I've been thinking about this all day while vaping my trusty ego c twist. Which do you prefer buying product online or at a local vape retailer? I've gotten all my stuff at my local tattoo/ecig place (nice combo right?) And I did realize i coulda saved a few bucks online but then again no shipping cost or waiting time and I supported the local businesses. So what are your opinions?

I do both but really, I hate waiting for mail! My local is great but they don't have everything I want - I've got just about all of the different flavors of juices they sell that I want (they do keep getting more though.) Some of my favorite juice are from online vendors, and I have many more vendors I want to try for juices! I don't need any more devices right now although I may well buy them local when I do. I do buy clearos, atomizers, coils there (but I've bought some online too.) I do want to support my local - I'm very glad they're here and I've bought a lot of stuff from them already in the almost 3 months they've been open. I'd hate to see them not make it.

I love my local shop. They are a smoke shop that carries everything from tobacco to cigars and hookas on up to waterpipes and big, giant vaporizers.

I also like shopping online, and oftentimes, you are supporting local business in another city. I know that Quantum is two guys in New Jersey, MtBaker is a local shop in Washington.. So, as for shopping local, this also counts, in my book...

What I don't do is shop overseas. I am currently unemployed, and only one of millions here in the US. Why send the business overseas? So many people complain about the economy in the US, but don't really pay attention to everyday actions, purchases and behaviors that channel money out of not just their local communities, but straight out of the country. No way we can recover as a nation if we continue on this path.

On the flipside, as our economy tanks, we can't afford to pass up a good deal, sometimes to just keep food on the table. It's a dichotomy like no other. The less money we have to spend, the better deals we need to get. To get those deals, we buy cheaper products, which are most often made overseas, further damaging our economy. Granted, we need international trade on a grand scale, but we are now an industrialized nation with rapidly shrinking industrial sector. We export businessmen, and sell our debt as a monetized commodity, and import everything else.

I am sorry to go on an American political rant, but shopping locally is the key to getting us back on our feet (I am aware that we are an international community of vaping enthusiasts, and this does not apply to everyone here, but our news hits every shore, and I am sure that no matter where you are, you are at least somewhat aware of how we work)

I shop locally when I can, and pay in cash so that the funds circulate in my community instead of instantly getting passed along to global financial institutions (it all winds up there anyway, but at least it can take a lap or two around Austin before jumping ship) I recommend this to everyone, no matter where you live. The extra money you save in the short term has long term effects on our global community.

It helps me every day to know that we are all one people, sharing this rock that's hurling through space at 390 Kilometers per second. Knowing this makes it impossible not to have love and compassion for nearly everyone, leading me to see how small choices have a greater impact. Like shopping locally with cash.

Okay, I will admit that I am part of a co-op for a Zmax, but nobody is perfect :p

Definitely prefer to get new juices at B&Ms because I can sample. The prices are higher, but I save a lot of money with juices I sample and don't end up buying. If I really like one and it's sold online much cheaper than at the store, I might order more in a large bottle online. If it's just a couple of bucks diff, I'll just get it from the store.

I like to buy my hardware and parts online because of the greater selection and great deals. For example, I went to 3 stores to find a 306 atty to test drip juices with and none of them had one. Did a google search and was able to locate a couple of sites with 1. Had to wait for the mail, but oh well. The difference for some basic supplies like pre-punched flanged cartos or replacement iClear/Kanger heads can be more than double at a B&M, so it's a pretty large amount of money you have to give up just to support the B&Ms.

One thing that annoys me a bit about a lot of my local B&Ms is how tied to social media they are. Like us on Facebook and check in on Yelp to get a discount on our juice! I'm not into social media and I hate feeling like I'm paying more just because I don't care to like/check-in at every B&M I shop at. I'm the guy who ends up paying more so Facebook addicts and serial Yelpers can get good deals. Makes me feel more comfortable buying stuff online where websites aren't going to care that I'm not hip to social media. Lol.

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
My local shop was great and the people are awesome to talk to.

That said, I've far surpassed them in what I have and most of them in what I know in an extremely short period of time.....lol

I shop online almost exclusively now but I still like to go in and shoot the shorts with the guys who know stuff.

Me too.. so I spoke with the owner. They are now building a very nice selection of everything from simple eGo batteries to mods and nice attys. They even started carrying heads for me... now I can just walk to the corner for parts!

Plus they have to have a markup in order to make it worth their while. I can get the same stuff they can from the same sources when I choose so it's really only the social thing left.

I buy online exclusively.

I tried a few of the local shops when they opened. It was nice to taste flavors before buying them, however both places were pushy about trying to sell me other products I didn't want or need.

Also, of the juice I bought, none tasted like the samples when I got it home, even after steeping.

There's only one B&M in my area - it's where I bought my first real vaping (non-cig-a-like) kit, and until recently have gotten my tanks/juice from. I've tried really hard to support them, because I hate mail order in general; shipping times suck, returns are worse, and I want to be able to talk to a person about what I'm buying and actually SEE it before I fork over money. However, I've recently given up on them - their staff is unhelpful or ignorant, their parts are overpriced, and I've gotten 2 bottles of juice from them recently that taste like no flavoring was added - even though they mix the juice right in front of you in the store. It's just not worth buying from them.

Always online...but I think this is more to do with the fact that when e cigs first started out there wasn't any shops around, well not near me or that I was aware of anyway. I am happy using my online vendor and have never had any problems so have no reason to change. Can understand shops being good for new vapers however as they will find the shop assistant helpful for any questions they might have.
