If a walwart type gets into the game, we lose, our vendors lose, Those who sell fair to higher priced quality merchandize will lose because they also need to sell the commodity items that we would run elsewhere for, for a penny less. They need to make a little off of those offerings also. They will not stay in business just by selling the quality stuff alone. They are not junk volume retailers.
We don't need knock off ce4's and evods, and batteries, and like. They are cheap enough as it is, and they "ARE" of better quality 99% of the time. As the above said it::: "The race to the bottom is not really a race anyone should want to win."
Maybe a good excuse to not have a cheap place for the "kiddies" to go and buy from.. just sayin'

Something that I think would be awesome is one website that's basically a massive directory for all the vape store websites. Not a place where you can find anything you're looking for, but a place where you can find a vendor for anything you're looking for. Perhaps with the ability to leave reviews on the different sites, based on price, customer service, shipping, selection, etc etc. Because i agree with why most of you are saying a one stop shop would be bad, but at the same time, I get tired of looking through countless vendors trying to find what I'm looking for. I think a big directory type website would be a major help. Maybe I'm wrong. Just an idea.

1 thing id say I love a good deal
but if Im honest I find the vender I want first then I look for a coupon

if there is one great if not I'm still going to order
I will not buy juice I don't like or bad products because I got a discount
neither will I not buy juice I like or products I want because I didn't
I will price shop for certain things

I don't think discount's will make people more or less loyal in the long run
When I first started vaping I went for cheep coupons and discounts for juice
I order from none of those vendors now

Interesting discussion. I also am not a fan of big box stores. You may find lower prices but the prices typically reflect the quality. I much prefer the mom and pop stores vs Walmarts and the like. A bit off topic but, does anyone know if there are USA made cartomizers or clearomizers? I just prefer USA made everything if possible. We have the luxury of USA made e-juice and would also like to buy USA made cartridges.

So ECF..... Where do you shop online for your Vaping needs?
Do you use one online retailer for everything? Or do you get a little from here and a little from there?

Mr Eliquid for juice
Ikenvape for Cartos
Ibtanked for Tanks
Madvapes for Tanks
MountBaker Vaport for Juice
Random Places for Mods
Random Deals on Ecig Gear - Vapor Joes

Whichever online vendor who has what I want at a reasonable price gets my money.
As a relatively new vaper, my current cost are associated to finding what I like.
Once I know this, my spending will decrease.
As far as juices, that's still an ongoing search not limited to one vendor and that too many change once I find one I really like.

As long as we have choices we can shop anywhere!

I'm new to vaping. I started with cigalikes. When I needed cartomizers, I had to look for online vendors, as I live a two or three hour drive from the nearest B&M source. I found two online vendors that served me well in terms of price and quality for what I wanted as a raw beginner: themagicmist and easy vapors.

I quickly outgrew the cigalikes, and based on what I learned from more experienced people in these forums, I placed an order with fasttech. It's been sitting in a Hong Kong post office facility for a couple of weeks. It may arrive here some day, or not.

That was, in an odd way, a good thing for me. I needed batteries, tanks, juice. I expected to pay more with domestic suppliers, in return for the expectations that (1) I would actually receive what I ordered before next year, and (2) if there were a problem, I could resolve it by e-mail or telephone with a relatively local person.

I came back to the forums for more education.

I ordered Kanger Protank IIs from SmokTek.com. All arrived in 2 days, in perfect working order. The price was a few dollars higher than fasttech's price, but the lower fasttech price does me no good when the box is sitting many thousands of miles away. I did some quick price comparisons with other vendors before placing the order. I have no complaints. I'm happy with the vendor and the products.

I ordered some juice from AzureVaping.com. It arrived, exactly as ordered, in two days. The price was good, and the juices I've tried so far are pleasing. They will improve with some steeping time. No complaints. Good value and good service.

Yesterday I ordered a Vision Spinner from aquavaporcig.com. I'll have it in two days. The price was good. Notifications of order status were immediate and clear. No complaints.

Yesterday I ordered some juices from juice-e-vapes. The customer service, including messages from the owner, have been first rate. I should have the juices in two days. I look forward to trying them. Prices were just fine. Not as cheap, or as delayed, as fasttech, but I'm more concerned with value than cost.

The nearest walmart is, in terms of travel cost, about 15 dollars per round-trip from my home. If I factor that in, and my time, I'm not too enthused with buying a commodity item at a buck or two less from them. They don't treat their employees very nicely. End of discussioin for me.

The initial post suggests that online vendors are ripping us off. I respectfully disagreee with that premise. I'm comfortable that I'm getting good products at reasonable prices when I do a little shopping and take advantage of the good advice available on the forum.

(I haven't yet read all of the other responses yet, so someone may have already mentioned this, but ...) If your retail business model is to chase after the "basement-bargain hunters", one might be surprised (although that would be be surprising) how disloyal those consumers actually are. In the retail world, "basement bargain hunters" ARE NOT a preferable target customer as they have a very high tendency to jump ship on you the moment someone else sells the same item for $0.01 less than you do - this is no more apparent than in online retail. The only way a retailer can acquire anything resembling 'loyalty' from a bargain hunter is to always undercut the competition - at all costs - and this is model is not conducive to making a profit.

I've been researching the business and building a business plan for over a month now - in preparation to open my own B&M - and I have a fair idea of overhead costs and wholesale prices. I would say that, with exceptions of course, most online vendors operate on a 80-100% margin and most B&Ms settle in around 125-150% margin depending on various factors. That my seem like a lot to most people, but it's really not when you crunch the numbers. I would go so far as to say that if either are selling product under those lower limits, they aren't making any profit on that product whatsoever, regardless of the offset of potential volume sales.

Ditto

(ah heck -- just buy fasttech clones and put all the other manufacturers (the innovators) & vendors out of business)

Please remember, your boss has to make a profit to make payroll.

I agree, breath of fresh air, coming from a guy that has owned and operated 6 businesses for 35+ years.

Don't underestimate start up costs, when you think you have them all sorted out add 30 ~ 40% or you won't make past your first year.

So, so many times folks with good intentions post about frugality, they must have the cheapest, etc .. and forget the fact they were dropping at least $6 bucks a pack, each and every day ..

Running a real business and not working out of your spare bedroom or garage takes a financial and time commitment that will hopefully provide a living .. although I gave up trying to be Bill Gates a long long time ago ..

Mbv for most juices now but will try others, sunvapers for coils/kanger stuff, aquavapers for batteries, worlds finest is my fave local b & m. I also like smokeless image for Cigalike batteries. I am loyal but if see good price or want to try something, will try but these are my current mains now due to great pricing, great service, quick shipping. I comparison shop online for price, quality, and service, if places provide all 3 they got me. If these places raise prices a little, I would still use because fast and reliable shipping but if huge increase might look around more. I got kids and like to save some $ but am not ultimate crazy bargain woman. I also do prefer US based business, yeah I know many products come from China, but I try to support them anyway. Plenty of online coupons and rewards upon purchase, they send and I look too especially on facebook sites.
