*** Oops - posted before I realized that Classwife dropped in to say hello. Well, you know what they say - it ain't a party until the cops show up!

Maybe this will pass muster with the proprietors of this fine establishment. Let's find out together, shall we? ***
It's just silly to call the Smoktech Vmax a knock-off of the Provari .... sure, Smoktech stole some styling elements .... Emulation is the best compliment .... Follow the leader. This happens in any industry.
If I were inclined to use "judging" type speech (which I certainly am not), like calling something someone did "silly" , I would also be inclined to say it's "silly" to say that someone is engaging in silliness for calling the VMax a knockoff of the ProVari and then go on to say "sure, Smoktech stole some styling elements .... Emulation is the best compliment .... Follow the leader", and the like.
[I left this part in because I think it's critically important to effective communication that judgments of any kind be refrained from when conveying one's idea or desires. "Judge not", and all that. Plus, it works wonders as a means of not alienating the recipient of the judgment (Nietschze: "When I alienate, I cease to influence"), and it's also very "Golden Rule friendly"] (Then crap, why do I stll feel a ban coming on? lol)
Yes, I believe you are quite correct that the term "knockoff" more correctly applies to things like a fake Rolex, or an imitation Louis Vitton suitcase that is made to look exactly like the real thing to the extent that it will fool many people into believing that it is the real thing. That clearly is not the case with the VMax. But I did already acknowledge that, and if this was football, we might just see a penalty flag for "piling on".
I do own three Max's, soon to be four (a chrome one). I obviously like them very much, and understand and forgive the motivation behind "borrowing" some design elements from ProVape. The ProVari is gorgeous. That said, I am very aware of the distinct differences in functionality. Two 3.7V batteries let the VMax dole out power using a completely different kind of circuitry that has certain arguable benefits. (Due to the current lack of high-capacity 18350 IMR batteries, battery life is unfortunately not one of them). The display and menus are great, the button is great, the "fit and finish" are good, the 510 connector itself is great (excellent contact with any device I've tried on it, and excellent draw), and the voltage control through the discharge of the batteries seems to be very good. (In fact, I'm feeling compelled anew to tell the OP to buy a chrome one tomorrw LMAO)
There's an EPIC thread on the VMax that I'll link to as soon as I locate it.
Found it:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...385-new-variable-voltage-device-smoktech.html
Seventy-seven pages of thrills, chills, and spills - and a HUGE amount of info on the VMax.
*** There is absolutely no correlation (that will stand up in a court of law) between my extensive participation in that thread and its unfortunate closure ***
Peace out/vape on all
