I'm just like rothenbj, never been political until last year & now I'm like DC & wish I could unlearn everything I was ignorant about before. I'm not left or right, center, I'm inside out lol. Libertarian fits sometimes, not other times. With that said, I've sat in on some chats (oh my aching bandwidth!) with round table discussions that were very eye opening. Basically, they all agree on one thing, we need to stop being manipulated into divisions and figure out how to unite in order to stop civil war & global take over. Oh, & what a pleasant surprise to see these panelists switching over to vaping!! Even the big guys! It's almost like a vape meet. Shoot, I'm rambling again & forgot what I signed in to say.

Operation Choke Point is designed to crush a wide range of industries. The genius of the program is there's something for everybody, the list of offending businesses is long enough that there's at least one that the average "sheep" want eliminated. Right, Left, Liberal, Conservative, Up, Down, there's something for everyone that they would like to see eliminated.

Some merchant categories associated with high-risk activity include, but not limited to:

Ammunition Sales
Cable Box De-scramblers
Coin Dealers
Credit Card Schemes
Credit Repair Services
Dating Services
Debt Consolidation Scams
Drug Paraphernalia
Escort Services
Firearms Sales
Fireworks Sales
Get Rich Products
Government Grants
Home-based Charities
Life-time Guarantees
Life-time Memberships
Lottery Sales
Mialing Lists/Personal Info
Money Transfer Networks
Online Gambling
Pay Day Loans
Pharmaceutical Sales
Ponzi Schemes
Pornography
Pyramid-type Sales
Racist Materials
Surveillance Equipment
Telemarketing
tobacco Sales
Travel Clubs

Furthermore the DOJ is not taking any direct action against the businesses in question, just threatening the banks with audits, investigations, and the expense of providing documentation for anything the DOJ "suspects".

If the DOJ knock on your door and says we would like you to do this or we might have to have the IRS, EPA, OSHSA, DOL, EEOC...etc, take a closer look at your business, what do you do?

Government grants, eh?
So banks can get in trouble for providing Grantz to ANTZ, especially to Glands? (I like that rhyme ;) )
Sounds good to me :D

So,let's see: the administration can exert pressure to shut down (make impossible) any business that does not fit its own (current) preferences. It can add any business to the list that it does not like at the moment. Never mind if the business is completely legal or not. - Say, what is the difference again between this total government control of private business activities and Russia, Syria, Egypt?

The beauty of the program is the government is simply threatening to enforce the "letter of the law", nothing new or different. The draconian laws and regulations already exist, the cost to a business for complying to the exact law or regulation can put them out of business.

This is where the FDA is headed, they want to have e-cigs included in the mess of laws and regulations so as to have their thumb on the pulse of the business.

This is typical fascism (as a form of gov't minus the racial/ethic aspects). Have several laws on the books (like spitting on the sidewalk, jaywalking, etc.) that can be subjectively enforced. Then target certain groups or individuals at will, yet within the 'law'.

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

Alexander Fraser Tytler(?) 1747-1813

I've always taken the above principal to heart. It's nothing complex and is spot-on when used to describe the demise of the U.S. Republic.

Yup and the more you can pull into the public dole the more that will support those that are seeking political office. I wonder how many more votes can be bought in a country with $16t in national debt (oops, I must have fallen asleep. It's now nearly $17.6t). Each uptick in debt requires more and more from the citizenry and the more looking for help.
