I run my Orchids on my Vamo with no problems. Of course, I use it as a single coil. Twisted 32, on a 2mm mandrel, 12 turns. Works fine, and twisted 32 stands up to multiple rewickings.

After seeing this utube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRdgmCrRjcs I am doing long legs, 10 turns to get the coil over the hole.

Ok, here is the update. Thanks to you good folks and the fact that my black Vamo V5 just died (I have another one in stainless) I ordered some new stuff. Here is a list of stuff that I bought,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Vamo V6 (3.0 - 20.0 watts)
Omega dripper
Japanese cotton
Stingray X mech mod
2 Sony 18650 high drain 30 amp li-on batteries
Coil wrapping jig

Is there anything else I will need? What gauge kanthal should I start with? I do NOT want to start with sub ohm coils. I want to work my way up to those! LOL

I've been using 30ga on my Orchid V4, dual coil at 1.2Ω, at about 12-15 watts it performs very well. The only possible complaint would be it goes through juice so fast, I keep checking for leaks....it's not leaking, just creating huge clouds from the "missing" juice.....

I have 28, 30 and 32 on hand for rebuilding my clearos and my buddies Cloupor. I just started using twisted 32 (2 strand) in my Protank and Aero tank and I love it! Kinda hard to use twisted with silica but I am hoping that the coil jig will help with that one! LOL

Do you block the juice channels and airhole on the side that you are not using?

Just the airhole, not the juice channels. I use a bit of moistened cornstarch. It needs to be replaced occasionally, but at least it can be removed easily.

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, why not the juice channels? Wouldn't that cause the coil chamber to flood?

Sometimes I wick all four channels, sometimes I don't. I am not sure how it affects the result. Try it if it makes sense to you. It does to me, but....?
