I haven't even been vaping for 2 weeks yet. When i first ordered my SI Volt kit, i remember showing my wife some of the youtube videos of people using larger batteries, tanks, mods, etc. We both snickered, and i told her "people really get into this stuff, no way i'm gonna care for anything like that, that's just crazy". I should've known better. Being a gadget person by nature, vaping and associated devices is just a big money pit for me LOL So i decided i wanted to try other carto's, LR stuff, tanks, etc. I really wanted a battery with a passthrough function, but I guess that'll come in time. For now, i just placed an order for a KGO. The kits aren't expensive at all really, but I don't care for atty's and dripping, nor do i need 2 KGO batteries (we already have several Volts laying around the house as is, they're still outstanding by the way, but the wife won't use the KGO). So i purchased everything seperately - battery, usb charger, EMDCC's, 1.7 Resurrectors, drip tip, etc. All for the same price of 1 standard KGO "kit". I've got plenty of 808 cartos to go with our Volt's, so i also ordered a 510-808 adapter just cause.

Only thing i noticed missing was a cone. Is that something i really need if i'm not planning to use/drip with an attomizer? I started to go ahead and order a J Tank also (dang PBusardo and his awesome reviews!! ), but i figure i need to learn to pace myself. J Tank and Boge 2.0 cartos will be next, then i'll just need a reason to justify my purchases.

Fishing, that's it, i need the battery life and juice storage for fishing...:p. Maybe if i could stop buying vaping supplies and juices, I could afford to put gas in the boat LOL

Congrats on your purchase and I know you'll be happy with it. The cone is basically for looks and can sometimes help with juice leakage but generally isn'y needed. The tank is prolly the best investment anyone could go for- ease of filling, longer life of cartos, longer times between filling...overall increases the enjoyment/ kickin-back factor by 10 X IMO.
Happy Vaping.

Thanks for the input everyone! I just wish i'd have ordered everything sooner so i'd have it all for the weekend. Taking my child to the zoo, would've loved to have the extra juice/battery capacity. I didn't notice that 1 of the vendors sold everything i needed, as i ended up ordering everything from 2 seperate vendors. Oh well, it only made a $.30 difference. I thought the J tanks would be more durable than the Smoktek DCT's? Sliding up and down on the carto and whatnot. Can't afford to have a mess like that on the boat and miss a whopper ya' know ;)

I always suggest to new vapers they post their order here and allow us to look at it to make sure they're getting everything they need at the right price from a reputable vendor and to find discount codes. Some even offer discount codes + free shipping. Congrats cuz I know you'll really like the Kgo.
Cheers.

My SmokTek DCTs haven't shown any issues so far (been using for a few weeks). I've dropped them a few times and no cracks or leaks. Actually no leaks at all from the tank (unless a carto in the tank is misbehaving).

I find them easy to use while I wait and try and work out how I am getting a Phiniac tank :D

Give it some time. I've had mine slip on occasion, usually when I'm filling it. Makes a mess.

I've left out the pricing as both vendors appear to be on the forum suppliers list, and i believe both are reputable. I used the available discount codes posted in the coupon master list here at ECF

It looks good but with the Kit from Hoosier you get cartridges and not cartomizers. Cartridges are used with atomizers which are included in the order.
This is what I just posted for someone else ordering a Kgo...No affiliation with DarkCity:

Rather than buy the SmokTech 510 Dual Coil Cartomizer I would buy the SmokTech 1.5 XL Single Coil Cartomizer- tons of power and is much easier on the battery and is much larger/ can hold more juice.
I have no affiliation with DarkCity...
Kgo Starter Kit SLB KGO Starter Kit $43.99
SmokTech 1.7 SC XL Cartos Smok Tech XL 510 Single Coil Cartomizer - 5 Pack
$6.99 + free 5 ml juice
Coupon Code: ECFDCV is 5% off entire order.
The Starter Kit comes with a drip Tip
I would order another 5 pack of Cartomizers.

There are also Sample Packs of juice- 3 X 5 ml for only $5.00
If you're looking for a tank I use the Chopper Cyclone- no leaks and very easy to fill- $14.00 BUT the cartomizers must be punched, either by the vendor or yourself.

Understand also most of the Plastic Drip Tips do not fit tightly on the cartomizers. It's another $3.00 for a metal tip with a rubber O ring on it.

You will like the Kgo and the 1.7 cartos vape as if they're DC cartos. "IF" you ever decide to add on a tank remeber to buy the stainless steel catos and either pre-punched or punch them yourself.

Cheers and soon to be Happy Vaping.

Yea, i didn't care much for the cartridge/atty combo, so i figure i'd just go ahead and order more cartomizers (1.7 single and EMDCC) to see which i liked more. That's another reason i didn't want to spend money on the actual "kit", aside from the extra battery and charger, i wouldn't need anything else in it. The EMDCC's are more expensive, and hold more juice. But the 1.7's seem to vape better according to reviews i've read on here and other sites. Now that i'm waiting on CCV to send my order, i kinda wish i'd have ordered the 1.7's from Hoosier also. I didn't notice them on their site, but it's nice to get aquainted with other vendors sometimes i guess. Originally my order also had a 3.5ml tank, 2 extra punched cartos, and a 5-pack of Boge 2.0's. I figure i'll wait till another payday on the tank, and order a pack of cartos to punch myself with a hammer/nail. Question though - the Smoktek tank has ridges on the bottom for a flanged XL carto, and the pre-punched cartos are flanged on the bottom as well, does this mean i can only use those certain flanged cartos in the DCT? I was thinking other tanks like the J tank can use any carto, not just DC's or XL's. I could be completely off though, i just don't want to get stuck with a tank that'll only accept specific cartos (ie - flanged).

Hey it's all good and you did very well IMO. I've vaped every possible carto there is and am stuck on the 1.7's. I just try and find the best price possible without compromising quality.

No you can use them with other cartos BUT, to be sure, ask the vendor before purchasing. I use the non flanged cartos with my tanks and have had no problems- sometimes, because of the flange, the rubber grommets can get damaged when changing so you have to be careful. The cartos I punch, with nail and hammer) a 2.5 mm hole- vaping 60/ 40 PG/ VG. You can also buy a saddle valve from Lowes/ HD that does the trick- lasts for about 50 cartos.
And now the wait begins and congrats on moving froward.
