Congrats on your purchase :)

I thought I would go the same route, buy the best to start out with and hopefully save some money. On that basis, I also purchased an Ithaka.

I've only just found out I'm best off with a mechanical pv with kick. Nuts! Still, it's feels far better in the hand than my cheapo Vamo.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a nice mechanical that feels great in my hands and have just ordered a kick for it. I don't have it yet, but wonder what the differences will be in vape enjoyment between it and a provari?

the other difference between the v2 Provari and the v2.5 Provari, is if you are aiming toward low resistance atomizer setups, the v2 can only read the lowest (1.2Ω), the v2.5 can read resistance as low as (0.8Ω). anything below that it will give you a "LO" on the display when you check the resistance on your atomizer

This is different from the "it's just cosmetic" difference I've heard. Anyone else?

My carto is reading 1.6 and working fine. The website suggests 3ohm, but I can't find any other differences just looking at the site...where did u get that info eurobred?

the amp limit on the v2 Provari is only ~3.5, of course every provari will possibly have a slight variable in performance, you may still be able to "read" lower resistance on the v2 Provari, but as far as long term firing, it may give you an E1 error.

at least thats what i seemed to find out when i was testing out a friend's Provari v2 v.s. my Provari v2.5.
there could have been something wrong with his maybe?
seems the amp limit on both v2 and v2.5 is ~3.5
i guess that may be the case

Main difference will be ease in changing the voltage between the two devices. With the Kick in a mechanical mod, each time you wish to change the voltage (wattage to be more accurate) you will need to remove the Kick and use a tool to twist a screw that changes the power output to the delivery device. If you are like me, who vapes a lot of different flavors throughout the day, that becomes cumbersome, and handling the Kick so often (its rather fragile looking) may reduce its durability. If you use only one flavor all day, this would not be an issue.

With the Provari (or any other variable voltage/wattage) APV, you can easily change the power output on the fly by simply pressing the power button 5 times to get into the "power up" or 7 times to get into the "power down" mode. The Provari also has a built in atomizer meter and battery voltage meter. It also has built-in safety features that a mech mod will not have. The boost circuit on the Provari also regulates the voltage that you set so that the power output is the same regardless of the battery's voltage from start to finish. It lets you know when it is time to change the battery by blinking the power switch.

Not true, I've got a v2 black full size that has ran a .9Ω (my first ever genesis coil). So maybe his was wonky.

What kind of tanks are you guys using?

I have tanks from a variety of tank manufacturers. Phiniac, Hoosier Vapes, High Desert Vapes, Smoktech polypro DCT, Valley View Vapes. I also have a couple of RBA tanks (AGA T2). My favorite are from IBTanked, a pyrex tank manufacturer; I currently have 7 of them. I've gone to the slimmer, smaller capacity tanks since I primarily use them on Provari's or gripper-style box mods. High quality, elegant looking, yet inexpensive.
