I bought my first dripper and got it in the mail on Monday. After some trial and error with the coils, I got to use it last night. I'm not getting the "in your face" flavor that I have heard people talk about. It probably has something to do with my coil build, but I do get some flavor. I like the idea of taste testing on it and it looks really cool. I bought pre wired coils to begin with so that the transition is easier. Any advise or recommendations for a newbie dripper?

Just practice wrapping your own coils and find a resistance, diameter and wick material that works right for you. Try everything... all combinations of stuff until you find "that flavor". It's there in a RDA, but it's different for everyone. Not to mention that it will likely develop and change over the course of using drippers. You can have the same build in that origen and just change your wicking and get a completely different flavor/vapor/throat-hit. Don't be afraid to experiment. Have fun and stay safe!

Thanks. It was easier than I thought it would be, but I was told that the Provari won't fire if its at an unsafe level, is that correct?

yes, but if it works it's in a safe level

what are your ohms? as you are using prewired coils they came with silica right? I usually toss the prewired coils It came with as they are not good, maybe that's your answer.
if you don't have any kanthal you should visit a local b&m and see if they can help you out with the first build so you can see it first hand before you dive in, just mention that you are using a provari and aim your ohms at 1.4-2.0. and use cotton or rayon instead of silica

I got one also from Fasttech, dam no allen key first thought...but that was my fault..it was in pictures and discussion. I got my dual coil build around .7 ohm on mech mod. I'm getting good flavor and decent clouds on it with the widest air hole setting. But for flavor wise, I still prefer Magma but Origen is less messy to drip. Try using organic cotton balls as wicking material or some of that fancy Japanese cotton that everybody is raving about.
