I got one of these yesterday as well as a brass Nemesis clone and have it setup with dual 28g micro coils at around ~.8 ohms and the vapor and flavor coming out of this setup is amazing, especially for it being my first sub ohm and dual coil setup.

Out of the box the Origen was pretty much covered in machine oil but after about an hour of cleaning it it is pretty much perfect. Everything on it feels well made with the exception of the air holes having burs on the inside which I'm sure could be sanded down if I felt the need. It has already been mentioned a few times above but they did fix it to where you can now have it set up in single coil mode, which is nice because until now I only did single coil builds.

The only thing missing from this clone that I can tell now is the silver plated adjustable pin which I can live without.

Overall, I do not regret spending the $45 for this clone, it does not feel cheap and was shipped out to me by vaping Tech 2 days after paying for it. I highly recommend the Origen clone to anyone interested and would buy from Vaping Tech again if they ever stock anything else I'm interested in.

I have the new one with 3 sets of holes. Loving it. Now I'm considering the authentic v2 whenever they are restocked.

Honestly, many of the other 22mm drippers will hold more liquid than the Origen with the wells/deck full of cotton. The Origen will hold much more liquid if you don't fill up the wells with cotton, but leave the wick just long enough to reach the bottom of the wells. I, and many others, have found that less is more with cotton. Cotton will wick much better with as little wick as possible, usually just long enough to reach the bottom of the deck/well and suck up the last bit of juice. With too much cotton in the deck/well, often the cotton at the coil will be dry and begin to singe, while the cotton on the deck is still quite wet. With short wicks, when you get close to dry the ends of the wick will be bone dry, while the wick at the coil is still moist.

True about the cotton. What other drippers hold more liquid though? I haven't used/owned one that I can get more use out of before re-dripping than the origen. Looks like v2 almost doubles capacity

I received my Origen dripper today and, I must say i'm not impressed with the build quality! top cap isn't big enough... it was so tight that I had to wrap a cloth around it and use pliers to get it separated.

once I got it apart the orings where torn. burrs everywhere! currently running it with the top cap orings off and it's still so tight I can't adjust the airflow! bit disappointing to say the least. it does vape like a .... though :)

A little e liquid around the rings and twist then pull does the trick for me. Still quite hard to pull off the topcap unless the base is connected to a device though.

that wasn't a solution for me. I had to dremmel the inside of the cap a few thou... works ok now after the modding. Chinese quality control at it's finest!

Nelsonm64 - is that supposed to be the newer "fixed" Origen clone?
Can you post pics?
I bet VapingTech would exchange it.

Sad to hear though, cuz I was considering getting another since the one I got is top notch (except for the extra holes).
yup it's the newer version with the 3 sets of air holes. I thought about emailing them but, I had already modded it so... i wonder how many more of the *fixed* version are like mine.

Could've emailed them before you modded it. They would've marked it as a manufacturer defect and sent you a replacement. I think the 2nd batch of origens were pushed so fast that the QC fell thru some.

I should have but, I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for a new one ;) it works ok now after taking a few thousands off with a dremmel.

I have my v1's orings off of top cap, except the very top one, and I even have one of the two removed from the base.. Even with it screwed it, I had to pull way too hard to get it off..

I was considering getting two more omegas, and another origen, since the capacity is larger and single coils without grommets in the extra holes..I guess I'll hold off and see if any more issues come up..definitely getting the omegas though..only need to find some nice brushed drip tips.
