hi trolldragon
thank you for putting the link to the vids in here lerned a lot from it.
I got the tobeco and could not get the tank off !! was going to leave a cotton tail in the tank so I can pull some fresh section up when the time comes .but wanted to try it , so just twisted the cotton end to drop into the tank and left the top of the cotton to fill the coil.
I am in love !! ordered the mark 2 version ..ss..from ft. used mesh buils a long time ago but not oxidizing it , just very litely covered with cotton never had a short that way. its time to play with different builds now
absolutely love it
You are most welcome rolf!
Glad to hear you are loving the Origenny it is such an amazing atty. Some say put it in the freezer for a while to get a stuck tank off. I find that if you put one of those thick rubber bands that come on broccoli around the ring you can get it off easier. The least amount of squeezing on the ring you can do while turning it will work best. The more you squeeze it, the more it refuses to turn.

I have seen cotton over mesh before but that sort of defeats the feature of an easy dry burn and rinse for cleaning. But what works for you and provides a great vape is all good by me.

Enjoy!

Nice spacing, what is the diameter of the Q-Tip?

To be honest I don't know, but it's always worked for winding coils. When I was using RSST's I'd wind a 5/4 wrap on that with 26 kanthal and it always came out to .7 ohm, which worked very well in the RSST. I'm finding that .8 works better in some gennies though, like my DID and Kraken.

Thanks.
The calculation on steam-engine.org shows that 28g on 2mm should be 5/4 for 0.7Ω, so I'd say it's pretty close to 2mm.

I still need to find a decent build for my Kraken that I like.
Did you build a single or dual in yours? SS Cable or just mesh?

The one time I dual coiled my Kraken was no fun, and did not produce results that justified the hassle of the build. The ramp up time was too long, the vapor not enough, and it drained batteries faster. I've not seen returns on the effort to do dual coil builds that justify them, but then I've only done them a couple times. I always use mesh. I have some SS cable, and tried it once, but went back to mesh which I find easier to deal with when slipping my wicks out and back in to burn off my gunked up coils.

I found that dual on the Kraken to be a lot of work to build as well. I'll revisit a mesh only single build and see how that goes using the Petar K method.

When I started with gennies I had an AGA-T2, and worked hard to get it vaping right. I was grimly determined to get it right, because as far as I'd gone in my frantic search for a satisfying vape the mech and genny was the closest I'd come. I knew that was the answer. I had serious health issues from smoking, and I knew I had to do something.

I'd been told by someone who really knew his stuff that I should have gone with the RSST to start with. He was right, and I was stupid not to listen to him. Nevertheless, I did get the AGA-T2 working right, and I learned to roll a stellar mesh wick in very short order. I'll never understand how anyone cannot roll a mesh wick, really I never will.

I think that's a wise move. I had a frustrating time with the dual coil build, and I really had no reason to go there but boredom. You have to match the coils per resistance doubling that for each coil, and get the leads together on the center post so both coils heat uniformly, which is most of the hassle, and when you get it working the ramp up time is too long, it doesn't produce the vapor a single coil build does, and it eats batteries quick.

I had heard that the RSST leaks bad, so I was thinking of an I-Atty from FT. I find these old Genny's fascinating and half the fun is getting them working providing a great vape.

I hate rolling mesh :). My arthritis makes it a chore to get it good and tight. Seriously, it takes me like 40 tries before I get it perfect.

Arthritis is such a horrible condition to have, I am so sorry you have that, but from what I've read online getting it rolled good and tight isn't necessary, lots of people use hollow wicks. I'm not sure how well they work having not tried them, but you might want to give that a try.

What I don't understand is how people who DON'T have arthritis can't roll a mesh wick.

Thankfully my hands still work very well! I'd be happy to roll you some mesh anytime, just start a conversation if your ever in need of some. I've probably got about every atty you'd need them for so they might even work, I too have experienced those late night mystical items jumping into my cart sessions way to many times.

I got a Sat22 and a nahualon just for this reason. As soon as I built them successfully I put them away in favor of newer, better gennies...but I wouldnt let go until I got a working build. [emoji23]

I love the Sat22 and never tried a Nahualon. I heard that the draw on it was really tight, much tighter than the Sat22.

troll dragon...just me once more !
thanks for the tips for the tank removal. that makes sense . when I building mesh about three years ago I did have fiddle a lot with hotspots .the atty at that time was a did. will try to master a pure build again so . enjoied the did at that time but sure glad that I have this origen . and the version 2 coming . that one has a glass tank ..6 ml . when I did cotton on mesh just pull out the mesh dry burn the coil and torch the mesh and put it back in . glad tu come back to jennys after so many leaking bottom coil tanks.
have fun

how it this genny compared to origen dripper v2/v3 ? for anyone who have tried both
I have tried a friends Dripper V3, and I have both the V2 and the Genny.

Flavor on the Dripper V2 is stellar! It's one of, if not the best flavor RDA available. Next to it in line would be the V3 then the Marquis, Veritas and Magma.

The Origenny is no slouch when it comes to flavor either, not as good as the dripper IMHO, but still excellent and it does hold 4ml's of juice. I find the flavor a bit different on the Origenny due to all the deck hardware installed creating an odd shaped reduction in the top chamber.

I would not part with either the Dripper or Genny and want to pick up a 6ml MKII one of these days.

All depends on the build in any device and like everything else, YMMV.
