We lived in Germany (twice, actually) for a while when I was a kid, and I used to love to see the beautiful window displays in the village stores. Sometimes there would be whole winter themes made completely out of marzipan (almond paste) and most of them also included these amazing marzipan fruits. They looked so real!

Last time I had snow for Christmas was 89' and it was unusual for that area but they had plenty that year.

Right after Thanksgiving mom starting making candy and cookies. It was our "Black Friday" tradition. I sure do miss coming home from school to those smells.

I remember there was a plastic Santa and 2 white reindeer pulling him in the sleigh with packages....that all came apart....I played with that thing for hours on the floor while everyone else ran around putting up the other decorations..........I guess that's the advantage of being the youngest............
