Hello All...

So I have been vaping a fair bit now and am fully set up with an eVic and a bucketload of evods and ProTanks.. So I'm good...

My wife and FIL on the other hand are just getting started and are giving vaping a serious thought. They are more into the cig-look-alike set up and not chunky machinery which is understandable, its not for everyone..

My only issue is that I have ordered 2 sets of eGo Twists from 2 suppliers and both were fakes.. of course they are now returned and joyetech says originals come with a scratch card that you can put into their website to see if its real and all..

So where exactly can i get 100%-certified-genuine-product joyetech-nonfake-real-uncoppied-official eGo Twist batteries... ????? <---- I cant see that being hard to read at all :)

Shouldn't be hard to find genuine joyetech, I know altsmoke, vapors choice, myvaporstore, vaporkings, cignot, just to name a few vendors I shop with.

FWIW, ego clones work perfectly fine, too. I bet most people could never tell the difference. I haven't been able to, although I admit I do prefer and purcahse the genuine joyetechs but they do cost a bit more. Not everyone wants to pay higher and I imagine there are thousands of vapers using ego clones and they are perfectly happy.

If there is a reason you don't like yours then that is udnerstandable, but I bet when you purchased you saved some $$ so why not just use them and enjoy them?

The suppliers did not rip you off, they said ego twists, not joyetech twists, right? I know of no vendors that use the Joyetech name and don't sell real Joyetech products. "Ego" just refers to a style of battery, not the manufacturer.

It's frustrating for sure. But, most vendors (mainly US based) that list a product as a Joytech twist will have a genuine Joytech product for sale.

Now other vendors will have EGO twists, Vision spinners, Winders, and no-name variable voltage egos too.

The problem is that ego has become a type of battery rather than a specific supplier of a battery. So, if you purchased ego twists, then you got genuine ego twists. Not all twists are genuine Joytech.

Confused? yeah me too, just buy a genuine Vision Spinner :D

I have a Joyetech and a Vision, and I have to say the Vision is a better unit in my opinion. I can read the markings on the Vision. The joyetech marking are so difficult to see I have to use a magnifier. The Vision also gives me a better hit, you know better power in its patictular setting than the Joyetech. I keep the Joyetech in the draw now and use my Vamo and Vision as my devices.

There's so many fakes because there's money to be made. Does Joyetech have a section on their site that lists their vendors?
Joyetech lists their registered business partners:Joyetech worldwide business partner
but with the demand/supply chain it is daunting if not impossible for them to keep updated.
China is not a marketplace that respects or even acknowledges patents or copyright law.
New manufacturers are popping up every day.
Some of the "clones" are really great quality--I've had experience with products that cost 50% less performing twice as long.
It's pot luck, I like Vision, I carry Joyetech and generic (I have proven out over time).
Their are companies literally NEXT door to one another in Shengzen China that rip-off each others designs every day.

They do. However Joyetech doesn't do a very good job of keeping that list up to date. Nor is it complete. Because of that it's hard to infer anything about the absence of any particular vendor from the Joyetech authorized vendor list.

For the OP - Cignot.com Definitely an authorized reseller and some of the best customer service in the business. Also an ECF supplier with their own sub forum.

Yes they have one for trusted ones and they have one for copycats and advise against buying from them.

I was told they were original Joyetech ones which is why i was so upset and also reported them to joyetech to be added to the copycat list. And of course bank has refunded the charges pending claim and so on... And the worst part is the ..... head charged me original pricing... I mean I would have understood if they were cheaper but they were premium prices...

I used to have spinners but they dint work too well for me... are they any better now?

Why so many?
That is why.
Joyetech charges too much for their stuff so naturally people are going to make and sell fakes as the real thing so they can ride the cash cow too.

I can appreciate paying a little more for quality but Joyetech takes that and goes too far (if you don't think so, wait for it and you probably will).

When did they start sending a scratch card with an original Joyetech Twist ?

I do like Joyetech products, but other Twist out there work very well too. :)

In the vaping world just about everything has its "REAL" and its many copycat versions. It can be frustrating that many sites don't tell you exactly what version you are purchasing although usually what they "don't" tell you says it all ;) Joyetech Ego Twist are usually exactly that, while Ego Twist are most often not the Joyetech version. You can apply this theory to almost every vaping toy on the market.

It's a trap. Innokin is doing the same thing. Here's the rub, you can't tell me that these guys aren't knocking out a gazillion more units and selling them to resellers that ARE NOT listed as authorized vendors sans the scratch off 'verification of authenticity'. That's not how China works kids ;)

Ford built the first American Production Automobile.
Are ALL other American Automobiles FAKE? Or are they just Variations?

EGO has become a TYPE Standard - JOYETECH is an BRAND name
Others are NOT Fakes. They Are Batteries. They Do work the as described.

2 Words that get tossed around and way over used on these forums are FAKE and CLONE.

The only PROPER word might be Knock-Off. i.e. a close copy.

From my soap box - The first 2 Ego style 1100mah pass-through batteries I purchased last August still work like new.Complete kit cost me $24.00:)

I agree, and would even use the term "generic" instead of "clone" for many of the things we use a lot. I don't need a generic ego battery to be "Joyetech" for it to work very well. Given that there are no Joyetechs for sale around here at all, I may never ever even see one in real life.:)

I could see "generic" for an unbranded battery sold as an eGo, "clone" is kind of a vaper term for generic. With a clone/generic you know what you're getting and you pay for it. But stamp the Joyetech name on that clone and it becomes a fake where you expect one level of quality and pay for it but may not get it.

I've dealt with fakes in my career. I've seen fake Rolex watches that were complete junk (they didn't even have a watch in them), fakes that were along the lines of a $5 watch, and high quality fakes that were very good watches but not as good as a Rolex. They weren't generic watches, they were fake Rolex.

Arguments made are well pointed out, but the question wasnt imposing a debate on the ability of clones, knock offs or fakes to work.
Yes there are a lot of good clones, knock offs or fakes but brand consciousness and loyalty and placement is a big deal in a growing industry..

In fact I got in touch with the people at Joyetech directly and I must say, having dealt with chinese companies in the past, this one is operated a little differently. In fact, I learned that one of their senior partners/investors is an American, so yes I do believe their level of QA would be at least 1% better than that of any random factory shipping out eGo Twists for pennies on the Joyller...!!!

At this stage in the game, I am sure Joyetech will do everything to maintain a brand image cause 10 years down the line (pending FDA approvals and useage of brain cells) they will be remembered as pioneers, like nokia and motorola are for cellphones and ford/mercedes are for cars...
