Far be it from me to argue with your wisdom MK, but I'll elaborate. The ground rules between my wife and I were set when we met 11 years ago. Neither of us hold anything back. She don't take my crap, and I don't take hers. She doesn't tell me what to do, how to act, or try to make me into something I'm not, and I show her the same courtesy. Sorry, I don't buy into the whole hen-pecked husband, honey-do list, I'll make you a better man BS and never, ever will. If it's youthful ignorance, then I'll enjoy my bliss, but it works for us. IMO, it's about mutual respect.

Without the honey-do list, my dh would have no reason to run to Menards 3 times a week. The honey-do list is the one thing that guarantees a successful marriage. In fact, that weekly list impressed his mom so much that whenver we go see her, she brings out a sonny-do list. JMP--I implore you to reconsider the honey-do list.
So in other words it's not a mutual relationship Ms. Gramva but one in which he does as he's told by you or face your consequences..... Sounds like more fun for you than for him.......
My dh loves Menards. He makes the honey do lists himself so he can go to the "man" store. I do not do lists of any kind. Not organized enough.
If you feel good about the breakup, then it was not a good relationship. I am an odd-ball in that I never got into a serious relationship with any woman who I was not willing to spend the rest of my life with. I guess my method worked because my wife and I just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary this month. Not only are we husband and wife, we are best friends too.
Awe MK thank you, I actually have meet the 2 out of 3 perfect women in my life, I forgot if it is an Italian belief that you meet 3 great girls in your life. One is an old highschool crush, that I still have feelings for, another is a very old highschool friend that I am still very good friends with. I just hope I do not run into the third one for a very long time haha!
Krazie: You have actually met the 3rd perfect woman in your life. But unfortunately, I am too old for you and already taken. You will have to look for a 4th. And I have a feeling that she will come along eventually.
