Is this normal? I haven't dripped liquid since the atty flood incident within the first hour of me getting this, and I'm still getting vapor out of it after several hours.

Since I don't have my drip tip yet, I took the cart that came already on the atty off and dripped onto the atty, then put the cart back (I assume it is empty because it isn't packaged up like the 5 sample pre-filled carts that came with the kit).

Here is the true test... the after dinner smoke.

I just gave the cat two out of three remaining lighters (keeping one for the bbq & candles). He likes to bat them under the fridge and the sofas. Before today, someone in this house used to cuss him out for being a lighter thief... and today, I'm telling him to bat his heart out!

Man, I'd be scared they would explode on the poor kitties.
But, hope they had fun.

As for dripping. Cut the end of the cart off and you won't have to take the cart off each time.

Actually if it's a 510 cart just stick something in the open end and push the end out---it's a separate piece.

(we move the fridge and sofas every weekly cleaning day to retrieve the lighters after we discovered a few years ago he was batting them under there. he had quite a collection the first time. we figured we'd give him his last hurrah with the lighters before putting them in a place where he can't get them (and his bath tomorrow because he smells like cig smoke). anything left on a table or counter he considers fair game for him including pens, keys, ice cubes, etc. kitty is more than safe when his owners er pets are watching him. :) )

It is a 510 cart... it is two pieces? Thanks for the tip... let me see if I can perform surgery on it.

I keep reaching for the non-existent pack of smokes and nowhere to be found lighter before kind of mentally facepalming and then reaching for the eGo.

My husband seems to be taking to this a lot better than me.

Just remember not to try putting it out or tossing it out a window---yes it has happened.

Stick with it and if you do want a smoke go outside and don't smoke in the car.

do yourself a favor while you two are early in the game..get rid of all lighters..repeat-get rid of all lighters. within my first week or so, i got the hankering for an analog..couldnt find my lighter. in the second week i found a lighter and lit up a cigar..tasted like ......put it out and never looked back. give your tastes time to get used to the ecig taste and analogs wont appeal to you. trust me.

Love your story and wish you both all the best! Great to see someone who took the time to do the research and is sharing for the benefit of others. AWESOME! You've made some great choices in your purchases and have ordered equipment that will get you both off the cigs, but I'm guessing your DH will be creating mods very soon . . . . Can't wait to see what you both come up with - flavor combos too.

Congratulations and keep sharing!

Lamer - welcome! I have enjoyed this first day with you! Sounds like you will figure out what you need to do to get what you want out of vaping - that is, one of these days (and not too long either) it will be better than smoking. When that is true you are home free - free from desire for cigs! What a gift! You will really be saving money too, if not immediately (because of all your testing) - soon. I have read many people have stopped right away and some haven't. If you do have "analogs" don't let that throw you - just keep vaping and exploring and you will drop the cigs altogether sometime. I am so grateful to be able to quit so painlessly and exchange it for something I am really enjoying better! I look forward to your continuing chapters.

Not having a lighter handy never stopped me before; can light right from my gas range if I have to. But to be safe (because we do need one around to light the bbq and candles if the power knocks out during high winds), my DH tossed it very deeply in the Kitchen Drawer of Doom -- The Place Where Things Go, But Aren't Found Again.

The bigger thing was to (turn away if you are squeemish) take any garbage bags containing cigarette butts over to my neighbor where he kindly put them in his garbage can, and locked it behind his yard gate. I'm sorry, I'm not scaling a 8 ft fence and possibly dealing with his Rottweiler to get a cig.

The cravings using the PV are still there -- just much, much, much more milder than when I ran out of cigs the other day and thought I was going to tear the house apart looking for one. Maybe it is a motor skills memory thing, but I still keep looking for that non-existent red box and lighter on my desk. I guess once the PV becomes habit, that will stop.

Wow, I made it through the first NFL playoff game in 20+ years without smoking a cigarette.

Great story... reminds me of when I started.

DIY really is a lot easier than it sounds... and 100mg nic base from XtremeVaping makes the math easy. It's also makes vaping even cheaper. I figured out my actual baseline expenses in another thread; I've gone from $180+ per month for 'baccy to under $50. If your hubby decides to try modding, check out Madvapes for parts & such.
