I still use the term "search" because the Google company sucks. Now their search engine is likely the best one out there, but in the early days they were purposely ignoring Christian web stuff while promoting leftist adgendas citing religion breeds divisiveness. In time they allowed certain ideas to show up on their "hits"'but I never have used the term google it because they were stifling free speech from the get go.

And I refer to my vape devices as "nicotine vapes" so folks around me understand I don't use it to get high, but get healthy versus cigarettes. I knew early on e-cig was going to breed contempt simply because cigarettes are so frowned upon these days. And lets face it, unless it's a cig-a-like they don't look nothing like a cig.

My non smoking coworkers and family welcome my vaping so long as I don't fill their 3 foot circle with cloud.

Damn! There must be a safer way. Anyone with experience injecting liquids intravenously, or perhaps in suppository form?

There are times when I mistake "Center for Science in the Public Interest" for "The Onion".

I do know that the owner of google famously had his politics radically changed over time as he became more and more wealthy. It started out fairly blue back in the old days of “don’t be evil” and then went deep red. “Good” and “his stance was the opposite of mine but now is the same” is not the same thing.

This entire approach to an "epidemic" is making me sad.

Mostly, because I am unable to understand the real motivations behind the authorities blaming vaping as a social activity, in its total entirety, without even an attempt at discriminating the real causes of this widespread sickness.

It is the statement that "It has always been so, only now we can identify it" - this is clearly a red flag.

I can't believe that somebody is diverting people off vaping so generally.

For the occasion - I pose a question to the forum owners.

Should we talk about it?

I can't write a clear post, because of the forum rules about what is now believed to be the true cause of this "Vape illness epidemic" - can't be mentioned here under any circumstance.

Would you relax the rule to allow a discussion of the social and legal aspects of what is going on.

I'm in the EU not US, but what happen in your place usually tends to be replicated here - after a while.

Things have changed, and have become more nuanced and intense at same time.

It is not only the Earth atmosphere that has warmed up, causing more remarkable weather events; similarly to our Planet also the human souls are showing warmer, more intense and polarised interactions all over the places.

Therefore, you may want to adapt, allowing a detailed discussion of what is currently happening, where somebody - with the means and the power to do it - is actually proposing to *DELETE* vaping in its entirety.
Should we talk about it?

Regards,

Regards,

I think we should be allowed to discuss it, there's a lot of confusion going around because of the "Epidemic", and this is the perfect place to discuss it. The problem is the media and gov officials are lumping nicotine vaping with that other stuff under the vaping name with no distinction, and the general public doesn't know any better. I think a good discussion will allow us to have an educated discussion with those close to us and around us and maybe change the public perception of vaping as possibly lethal.

Consider this...

Conspiracy theory time

Note that there is not one minuscule iota of evidence to back any of this up...

What if, after failing to institute bans and higher taxes in many states this year, the ANTZ - who haven't been able to come up with one credible anti-vaping study - planted these carts to create the problem?

It just seems strange to me that such an outbreak could occur in such a small space of time in such a small region after 10 years with virtually 0 negative effects reported worldwide.

This was posted on another forum:
The worst part is these pods were provided to area drug dealers from a government agent to cause these kids to get as sick as they are. They knew what was going to happen and that it would be more leverage they can use to help sway public opinion toward a vape ban. The states are losing tens of millions of dollars due to the drop in tobacco revenues. Before vaping all the options to quit smoking were never more successful than the rate of new smokers so they knew would always be getting at least the same amount from the tobacco revenue. They started to depend on that money and spending it before they had it. That’s the problem vaping is causing them and the biggest losers are California and Illinois which is why they are the most aggressive lobbying for a vaping ban. It’s messed up but I think most adults are aware of the terrible things are government has done in the past and continues to do, and remember that’s only what we are aware of. I’m not a 9/11 denier and I don’t have a tinfoil hat but if everyone knew the things our government has done there would be mass outrage and rioting in the streets. Truth be told they gave the tainted cartridges to Illlinois drug dealers in hopes it would have been centered in that state but it ended up in Wisconsin which is that big of deal, the damage to vaping has still been done. I just hope enough people know the virtues of vaping and the lives it has saved and continues to save when it comes time to vote. I will likely disappear for calling this out and all I can say is I regret I have but one life to give for this cause and I know this will never come to light but I hope they don’t succeed not just for all of you but for the many lives vaping will continue to save if vaping remains legal and unmolested by our government.
Hoping it's not true but sadly wouldn't be surprised if it was.

George Orwell... 1984. Fear is the enemy. Social psychology is a powerful thing. Most people don't have a clue about the "real" world they live in. No, I don't wear a "tinfoil hat"... I have an aluminum wok lid... more stylish ;)
BTW, I'm old enough to remember when they sprayed paraquat on you know what (and I've seen it... told a friend "throw that stuff away... it's been sprayed with paraquat!") Had another friend that got this "stuff" (a powder) that smelled like pesticide... told him to throw it away! Good thing they both listened to me.

When someone sees me vaping I get "the look"... contempt and pity (even cig smokers give me the look LOL)
BTW, we don't need to change the forum rules... that would actually invite a bunch of kids to clog up the discussions here. I suspect we already have enough under-age posters already. What a mess!

I believe I wrote about the Gafia (government mafia) who may have planted these pods and my deep fear and distrust of the government and my willingness to NOT put anything past them.

The only thing I fear and hate more than the Gafia is like my state's Social Work licensing board and it's because you put that kind of power into ANY social worker's hands, let alone the TERRIBLE ones who actually WANT to do that job, yeah, well....

Sigh.

In my town an unscrupulous tobacco store owner opened in a strip mall near a low income apartment complex. I've see kids that appear to be as young as 12 hanging around outside the place vaping mini-mod pod machines.

It's the same strip mall I buy my groceries at so I take notice while entering and exiting the grocery store. When the guy first opened I went in to perhaps support my local merchant, but when I saw he had about ten grand worth of glass and wood items meant to use to get high, and just enough tobacco products to legally be deemed a tobacco store that was it for me.

I spoke to a police officer inside the grocery store about it and his response was "we know, but he is legal" it turned my stomach. The cops are more concerned about the drug dealers and I get that. But when kids are openly vaping outside the guys store there should at least be somebody hassling the guy.

Strangely enough, in my community the legit vape shops have turned their attention to selling products intended for vaping that new three letter oil. So it seems if there's money in it, they sell it. As much as I prefer to support my local patrons I can no longer darken the door of any vape shops in my community when they are knowingly contributing to this so called "epidemic" of vaping who knows what in the once viable alternative to cigarettes, the e-cig.

I blame society for its own downfall. Right now for example, millions of east coast American residents believe the end is in sight because they get their fix of daily drama from the alphabet soup of big media who are coaxing them to believe the hurricane to end all life on the east coast is heading their way. And any minute now doom awaits them even though the dam thing is still in the tropics. Those same people probably believe if Dorian doesn't kill them their vaping neighbor will.

I'm waiting for the stories of vaping zombies eating the face off little old ladies in the HallMark store.

Mesmerizing, isn't it? And to take any rightful offense to the hysteria is to risk being drawn in. Yet worse still, if you're indifferent to it, you've lost. Only hope is to stay steadfastly adamantly objective to the facts without being the effect of it all. IOW be prepared enough to MTF out the way. It's hard.

Good luck. :)
