What happens if your computer goes down?

All of the adjustments are done using the menus and sub-menus on the unit.

The computer is only connected and used for transferring info from the unit (puff count, etc.) and for updating the firmware when new versions come out.

My understanding is that you set the wattage and it displays the voltage (on the main display) that it is using to get that wattage. If you want to change the wattage, you have to go back to <Power Set> and <Output> then adjust two digits and decimal. Default is 05.2 watts.

I think it is a true VW device. I could be wrong (again). Lol

Enjoy!

To me, variable Wattage means two things:
1. You set the Wattage and you vape away with the device that is set up on your PV. When you change your device (with different resistance) the PV adjusts the Voltage accordingly to meet the set Wattage.
2. If i want to adjust the Wattage level i can do that with just a few clicks, preferable only one (up button or down button).

The eVic:
1. Calculates the Voltage according to the Wattage you set and the device you are using. When calculated it uses this Voltage as the newly set Voltage. There is no 'dynamic' adjustment. When you change your device the eVic keeps the Voltage that was set by calculating it for the previous device you used. There's no Voltage adjustment to meet the previous set Wattage level.
2. To change the Wattage you need about 17 actions to get there (5 clicks to enter menu, 2 turns left, click, 1 turn left, click, set power level, click, 1 turn left, click, 3 turns right, click) before you can vape. And that is the 'fast' way and not taking into account the actual changing of the Wattage level. That's more than just a few clicks IMHO.

The only thing Wattage-like it does is calculate how much Volts i need to set to get my Wattage, so i don't need to use a calculator and remember the formula.

So, my conclusion is it's NOT variable Wattage.

If it doesn't adjust the voltage dynamically to compensate for changing resistance then I don't consider that to be VW. That is the main advantage I had sought from VW.

How does the Vamo compare in VW operation?

1/2 our manufacturing people are over there setting up shops anyway. Gee...get a 2nd job and help translate. Or start a business reviewing Chinese to English translations for manufacturers.

You are so right on! I used to write end-user manuals for proprietary software companies.

If I was young, I'd be over there in a jiffy, writing manuals, instead of sitting around complaining how there are no jobs.

Heck, if it pays well, I may have to come out of retirement.

You go into the output menu then exit the wattage menu... you do not have to set anything and when you exit the menu the voltage will be set according to the atomizer ohm's.

That's a cause of concern? If it had GPS, I may be concerned.

Didn't say it was a concern, just saying it had it! Some people do, however, wonder if it's tied into or fed back to the program site for them to gain information. I don't know how it really could be, and I don't know what they would hope to gain from that information.

Just got mine today. Just set the wattage and go. It adjusts to each carto's resistance as needed. Vaping away nice and smooth. Real nice so far. I like the ability to adjust the settings in the software and program the eVic as well.

Are you saying that it adjusts the voltage on it's own when you put on a new carto or are you having to go back into the menu to get the correct voltage to set it to. Post #284 states that you need to go back to the menu system to get it to figure out the correct voltage to set so you get the same wattage.

Re-try it and be sure you have a different resistance carto. Mine doesn't adjust the Voltage when putting a new device on it. I have to go through the whole menu again. It would be very strange when each device has its own behaviour. And i'm sure there's no V1.1 Firmware yet for the eVic.
