It’s true. Stick+mud=me.

Noobs can believe the darndest things though.

But I’ve caught you off guard with my technobabble in the past. Does that make you a naïve noob? TBH bomber….there are some pretty outlandish comments made within these threads that even seasoned vapers believe. Pretty obvious mine was in jest even if it is fact cats invented physics.

But on a serious note: our objective is to keep leads at a minimum to avoid leg power loss (leg power loss is a fact and not technobabble, ask your cat if you own one) all while positioning our coil to maximize on airflow. If your rba allows any direction of leads, I say wrap in your most preferred/comfortable way. But as you seasoned and some new vapers know, some rba’s dictate that the coil should be wrapped in specific direction for the most efficient installation.

you have. It does. Everyone is a noob some of the time. No one behaves perfectly all of the time. It’s not possible. Those that think they do are usually simply wrong, or hoping to catch someone else out.

I agree, hence my preamble.

Ok….didn’t mean to insinuate you are a naïve noob – just running with your earlier comment that noobs may believe anything. I actually do not agree with that and stating so is a biased opinion on their intelligence which could be insulting.

My post was not to play on the intellect of others, but to inject humor through technobabble by creating an unrealistic scenario. The fact that it is the extreme opposite to what everyone else has said, with no one else backing the process up also plays into the joke. At worse, someone reading this who may not have much exposure to vaping, and didn’t see the comedy in the post would probably think that I have a screw or 2 loose. There maybe some fact to that but we’ll save my sanity for another conversation.

No noobs were harmed in creating that post.

I'm a noob when it comes to wrapping my own coils. I usually use premade coils but when I get adventurous and wrap my own I tend to wrap over. It's just easier for me.

I do not think I have a preference. TBH, never really put much thought into it. Admittedly, I have made/chosen a coil that was wrapped in the wrong direction for an RBA such as the B2K and have attempted to correct by either flipping the coil or flipping the deck…..sometimes several times. No matter the orientation it is still square peg, round hole! And yes, my fumble usually grants a facepalm from the cat.

Oh it was successfully humorous and totally harmless taken as intended. I liked it. I even marked it funny. It simply occurred to me that it was so good it might actually be fallen for, hence the statement.

I use both pre-made and diy wrap and find that most of my RBA's will accept the over wrap more readily, especially where vertical space is limited. Many of my pre-mades are under and can be a pain and you need to set a kick in the lead to aid post alignment.
I define under wrap as clockwise around the rod or coil tool.

For a vaping coil, it is important to understand which way electrons flow and match that to the wire used to make a coil. Getting this wrong could mean you are reversing the voltage polarity which could have adverse effects. Apple flavours taste like orange, tobacco tastes like lemon pie etc. With a single coil we do not know the outcome of reverse polarity, for it can be unpredictable. But with a dual coil, opposite polarities cancel each other out and is the reason why we get so many questions on why there is no flavour to one’s juice.

The easiest method I have found to prevent the above is to remove polarity all together and create your own. To do this pour liquid nitrogen over your wire which effectively will drop its temperature to the point where it becomes a superconductor. From there, if you wrap your coil from the top in a clockwise motion you are creating a positive polarity. Electrons flow in the same direction as time and time is clockwise! Easy enough to remember. If you wind from the bottom in an anti clockwise direction you create a negative polarity. Once finished, now match the positive side of your coil to the positive post of your atomizer. It is also important that if you have a cat, make sure your feline friend is not present. Cats invented physics and have the ability to break the laws of physics. This is not to say Fluffy will play physics mind tricks on you, but you can never tell – they can be cheeky buggers! At the very least, ensure you have a surplus of mostly chicken treats by your side to keep Fluffy happy.

There is no coil.

I do neither. I do a "stove burner" style, wrapping from the inside out, then push it down on a cone former... I call it the "time tunnel" coil (yes, I made that up, but every time I make something up, I later find it's actually been done... never fails!)
Pictures?

Don, the idea just came to mind (pictures only in my mind) but if you turn it upside down, I call it the "downward spiral". On a serious note, I have an idea for a coil that is formed in a half circle (arc)... would be great for bottom (side) airflow on a RDA. Just not sure how to get a wick in there. BTW, I am so hooked on this rebuildable concept... so done with drop-in coils!

The cone sounds like a cool idea. There is a stovetop coil jig that comes with the Damn Vape Dread that would be helpful for a making that. If you make it post some picts.

Um I just do whatever is most difficult, honestly. So both, at random, and the whole time I am like "Why did I do it this way I should have done it X way and then I go,"

LIFE WITHOUT VAPING.

And it's all good. I finally got my littlefoot and I want to build it so bad (it's SMALL y'all but circumstances have conspired against.)
