So I go too reach into my pocket and I immediately notice that the top of my mini protank 3 is scorching hot. Quickly my mind races to the possibilities of explosions and fires and whatnot. I transferred it from my pocket into my backpack (in case of fire or something because I was on a bus). Anyways from there I unscrewed the mini protank 3 from my ego vv twist 1100-1300mah? Not sure which but it has the auto shut off feature that I didn't use. Do you guys think the button got pressed for a long time? I don't think so because my battery has a 10 second shutoff and there's no way the tank could get that hot that quickly. It burned the first finger that touched the tip :(
Any thoughts guys?
I'm about to screw er back up and try to use it.

It does sound like it was being continually fired. And while it does have a safety time-out, moving around could easily release and then re-apply pressure to the button. (The auto shut-off is auto, you have no choice but to use it :) But it also resets after the button is released. A fold of cloth pressing on the button intermittently could be the culprit.)

If you think there's an issue with the battery, take the topper off and turn the battery off. And if it's going to be carried anywhere - pocket or backpack - that might inadvertently press the fire button, it's good safe practice to turn it off anyway.

Agree with David you need to lock it or turn it off or remove the atomizer. Depending on a time out is a mistake. FYI they make tethers for these and holsters. Shirt or pants pockets are not the best place for them. I lock my attys and have a deep vest pocket I can put them in. Not sure i'd put one in a backpack. Half because it's harder to reach half because I may not see, hear or feel a problem with the unit in time.
