I don't know what all these numbers mean 401, 510, ect. I don't understand the difference? I'm looking for a place I can buy an e-cig with fast shipping so that hopefully I can get it by this weekend. I know it's thanksgiving week. Cheap would also be a bonus (under $40). Any suggestions?

This will be my first e-cig and I'm switching from Basic 100's as well as roll your own pipe tobacco (which was too rough).

I'm in the metro Detroit area, maybe you know of a place I can buy one locally? Fast and cheap are my big concerns right now. I'd like to have it by this weekend. I just want to try one out and see if I like it. Then maybe get one for my mom for Christmas.

510 -

$35 shipped. I would get spare juice, extra blank/empty cartridges.

Probably not this weekend, but they have the fastest shipping that I have ever seen!

Yeah that looks liek the best deal. Too bad they're out of stock I wa hoping to order today.

Any other vendors with quick shipping that have something in stock??

Take your time and do some research. Read thru this forum. Getting something on the spur of the moment may have negative consequences on your future decision to vape.

You may end up with something you find totally disgusting and turn down vaping forever. This is not something you can just jump into willy nilly.

just my 2 cents....

First purchase can be made from most any of the vendors in the Suppliers forum

Whichever vendor you consider, do a simple search of their name and you can find feedback regarding them.

Do smoke shops sell this kind of stuff? We've got a ton of them around owned by middle eastern guys here in Detroit. I've never checked to see if they stock them. Is it legal for them to sell them?

Oh no, only the Swahili smoke shop owners have them. Not the middle easterners.

Hello, and welcome. I found one at my local cigar shop, but its not that great. I think most retail stores are only selling the "disposable" two piece e-cigs which has the atomizer and the liquid together(cartomizer). That way they can make money. The one I got is called Elekto and it's pretty weak. No good vapor, the battery dies quick and they only had 8mg carts. If I had it do do over I would have just spent my money online and got refillable one.

If you have any truck stops near you (Pilots for sure), they do carry ecigs commercially. They are average devices and might work for you to get started on, particularly if you are champing at the bit!

olderthandirt has posted some great information. The truth of the matter is, you will get any number of people coming here and telling you that the ecig they use is what will be best for you, but I'm not going to presume to tell you that.

I would ask that you think about what is important to you (looks, battery life, vapor production, readily available parts, how much tinkering and fiddling you can tolerate) and these things will better guide you towards *your* perfect e-cig.

Roxics....

Can you hold out past the holiday? You could use the time to figure out what model you want and place an order online---which, for the time being, is really your best option.

Those smoke shops you described (there are several just like that here in Chicago, too) will probably 1. sell you an inferior product and 2. WAY over charge you. You won't find any bargains there.

I bought my first ecig from a retail shop. The kit had only one battery, one atomizer, a charger, and 5 tiny liquid filled cartridges. The dude who sold it to me tried to get me to buy a bunch of extra cartridges to go with it.

I hated the thing. I couldn't get much vapor out of it, I had no juice to drip or refill the carts, and the lack of an extra battery only added to the misery. The whole experience almost stopped me from pursuing vaping any further. I was thinking: "what's all the hype about? This sucks." A little patience and research on my part could have spared me a lot of frustration and saved me a wad of cash.

I realize that once you make the decision to try, you just want to get started. But can you stick with the analogs while you check out a few resources? Otherwise, there's a good chance that a quick purchase will end up giving you a negatively skewed sense of what vaping is about.
