I believe that if it keeps you from smoking stink sticks, it's worth every penny for good equipment/liquids. Tonight my vaping co-worker put it correctly and I just had to laugh. Another non-smoking co-worker, who appreciates our vaping because we no longer are outside for 15 minutes every couple of hours for a smoke while he has no excuse to do so, asked my vaping co-worker why he needed 3 devices with him tonight. He said "It's redundancy, in case of failure!" It was hilarious because we work in Information Technology, and at the time we were running a redundant fiber line for a switch. I hope there are some IT nerds out here to get a chuckle out of that. If not, sorry

But really, every bit of information here on these threads, I've soaked up like a sponge. I had a guy today at my local vape shop say "wow! you really know your stuff for a new vaper!" Read, read, read...that's all I have to say. Learn about voltage, resistance, find your favorite juice vendors, and I feel most important of all, learn to fix and maintain your equipment! I feel the more I know about this, the less likely I'll pick up a cig again. I was thinking tonight that if vaping disappeared tomorrow, I don't think I could go back to smoking.

It was overwhelming to me at first and I felt like my whole life revolved around vaping, but it's been a couple of months, I haven't slipped and smoked a single analog, and now I have my vaping routine streamlined and very low maintenance. Once you find a few juices you like and a setup you are happy with, the ordering slows down a lot and the hobby doesn't take up as much of your time, unless of course you want it to.

Take a deep breath and absorb all you can. And have fun! :)

here's my progression which seems somewhat common:
1) Buy crappy set up fro a mall/Walmart/crappy vendor
2) Get good set-up from here... make it like cigs and use cartos like tobacco
3) realize cartos dont have to taste like crap and get tasty juice
4) vape for some time with decent set-up with nice juice
5) get bigger bats cause it gets to be a hassle
6) play around with tanks/cleromizers
7) make your own juice in the DIY section--just did my first batch and it saved me a fortune! wish I did it a year ago
8) Get to set-up you like that really is cost effective: few big bats, a tank or clearo you like and great tasting juice you make...

Lots to learn... but by the time you get to the end and see the huge savings you spend a lot of cash learning.

Since starting this endevour I've spent quite a bit of time and money researching and trying new juices and tanks. It has been overwhelming for sure. Basically as of now I like a Standard Resistance Boge carto in a 2.5ml tank on a Provariaround 5-5.5 volts. It's sleek and works very well. The really hard part is finding juices you like. Since taste is subjective this is the hardest part for me. I've taken some advice on juice recommendations and for the most part have been pleased. I have been on a Rawr juice kick lately as they taste really good, especially mentholated. I was a menthol smoker for 18 or 19 years so I've been trying those juices out.

In the long run the money I've spent will have been worth it. I'm off cigarettes, bottom line... it's all gravy from here on out!!!

As someone new to this, I have to agree - it IS very overwhelming! But, it's like anything in that there's a learning curve and if you stick with you, you will eventually get the hand of all the lingo, the different products, the terminology, etc. I'm still a newbie but feel light years ahead of where I was just a month ago.

Yes, this is overwhelming. When I first started I just took advice from one of my co-workers, but since then I've found ECF, PBusardo, and this has helped me out a lot. This forum has so many helpful users that sometimes I just lurk around different forums and see what the veterans are saying, then I try out what they've done. I'm still a noob so I'm still looking for a setup I'm happy with, but I'm slowly getting there helped by people here.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I have found that there is an incredible amount of information to sift through in the journey to find what works for each of us as individuals, personally it's taken me months to find the kind of vape I needed to be smoke free and along the way I was lucky enough to find a few flavours I liked and even more that I didn't, lol. Now I strive to find a more stream lined mod set up and what I can only guess will be a never ending search for new flavours, best thing any of us can do is what's been stated before, read, read, read... Best of luck and happy vaping!
