So as titled.. is this psychological or real?
I’m a bit prone to depression. I usually control it by not watching the news and such.
I have gotten my nic down to about 6 ml. been proud of that.
I have recently been having some personal issues, and have started to feel down. About 3 days ago, I started feeling the depression. I have also been vaping up my older liquids and the depression is going away. They have higher nic… so I did some experimentation… if I vape 0-6 nic, I start feeling down again, but if I go for the 9-12, it goes away.
Is it just me?

I dunno about depression, but I find any nic lower than 18, and my ADHD is insufferable, and my OCD is more noticeable. I can live with it, but why should I? If you feel better at higher nicotine, go back to it.

My advice, and I am no doctor, and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night....(they don't even allow pets, and a lion is no one's pet!)

Could be...but then when I finally made the transition, I went through a rather tough depression while going through what I believe were withdrawals....not from nicotine, but the other stuff in cigarettes. It only lasted about a few weeks, along with the other symptoms. So if you're recently smoke free, it could be you're just going through withdrawals. :) Hope you feel better soon.

Wow, you have all three? Man, you need more nicotine. Remember, the vast majority of the health problems with nicotine are from it being smoked. The issues with vaping nicotine are certainly less. I have seen studies that compare its health consequences to caffeine. Either way, sounds like you need it, just like me. So use it. Enjoy life.

I experience the same thing. Thats nicotine addiction in my opinion. By the book.

Actually, the nicotine fires the same receptors in your brain that Ritalin and/or Adderol do. So with regard to ADHD, at least, it is a chemical reaction in your brain that is partially balanced by the drug. Now it may also be an addiction, but this has been studied according to my doctor. Caffeine also has this same effect.

If you intend to lower your nic, you may need to do so in smaller increments over longer periods of time by mixing 2 levels together at varying ratios until you get down to the lower level.
That's the way I lowered it to begin with. 18-16 , 16-12 , 12-9 , 9-6 and I was doing 6-0 I've been vaping since November. didn't have any symptoms until the current stuff. I'm back up now to 9-12. I was doing the 6-0 for 3 weeks.

this thread has depressed me...thx!
sorry about that.

sorry about that.

Don't apologize! You did not give them the condition, and you are not responsible for what is either an endocrinology problem or psychological condition. It is also possible they are joking, or trying to be clever. If that is the extent of their depression the poster can read other threads simply enough.

sorry about that.

Also, have you changed PG ratios, at all? I am highly sensitive to PG and one of the symptoms I experienced was depression when using PG based juices. Just something to consider if you've raised or lowered those ratiios, as well.

I don't know if you are kidding or not, but, whenever commercials for depression meds come on TV, I kinda get depressed. They make me think of things that make me depressed. So, when a commercial for antidepressants come on TV, I get up & walk away. I go into another room & vape the feelings away. This is a true story.

I believe you. Somehow, a person who's handle is "Darkhood" complaining about a thread depressing them strikes me as an attempt to needle the OP. It did not concern me one bit, but then again, a lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep. Thus my attempt to needle back with the nicotine reference. Not sure if the poster read that or not, though.

First let me state clearly I am not a doctor, nor am I a psychologist, and I also did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night either. :p I'm merely sharing my own experience as a layperson here.

I have ADHD, I was diagnosed as a child and given Ritalin for it (I no longer take Ritalin--it is not used as a treatment for ADHD in adults--and I take no prescriptions for ADHD due to certain beliefs I hold about health). When I am not ingesting regular amounts of nicotine (and to a lesser extent caffeine) I notice that I have more trouble focusing and remaining focused than when I am. It is possible that nicotine may have some antidepressant properties and therefore when the OP uses his/her older higher mg juices that the depression is lessoning due to that.

an interesting article
Nicotine as an Antidepressant? | Psych Central News

A google search for: nicotine antidepressant yielded a few interesting hits.
