I start vaping in spring . I have never been able to get away from the cigs . some days are better then others I get down to 5 cigs a day . I started getting this burnt throat feeling . one vendor told me it was because the mix of cigs and vaping . I have tried different vendors, pgvg levels, and nic levels . at the moment I have went back to smoking .

The nic absorption with e-juice is very different than it is with smoking. That said, there can be several other things going on, and without more information it's hard to tell.

Let's start with the nic.
I find that higher levels of nic and e-juice without water in it gets my throat kind of "tight". I think the nic hits some nerves, or juice dries throat out or whatever. Adding up to 10% water to my DIY e-juice helps. So does lowering nic %.

There's also PG and/or VG and/or flavoring allergies or sensitivities. These can be found out by changing juices on an experimental basis until you find one that works.

Then there's the device. A poorly performing e-cig will be harsh. Too warm = harsh. Too cold = harsh. Gunked up coil = harsh. Bad wicking = harsh.

Then there's the recipe....some vendors add a bit of "throat hit" to their juice by some means other than the nic.

Really, it's hard for us to tell. What device? What level nic and PG/VG? Try different vendor?
Just some ideas.

this feeling started when I started with the iclear16 2.0 coil on a fixed ego . now t3s 2.0 coil vision spinner not going over 4 usually 3.9-3.5 . I have had trouble with the mouth to lung from the beginning I find myself going straight lung. the more I vaped my lungs cleared up from smoking. so I found myself looking for something more but that's a different subject lol.

Vaping is not inhaling like a tobacco cigarette...the nicotine is absorbed in your mouth not in your lungs..so take a hit and hold it a second in your mouth..no need to inhale..so its all about the hand-mouth action, and the nicotine absorbtion..not inhaling, unless U have to and like it but that's whats causing your throat irritation if you are hitting on that ecig like its a Marlboro Red..

I still can't do straight lung inhales without attempting to cough up a lung. Also, air flow may make a big difference in that regard too.

I think you should maybe experiment with gear a bit...particularly different "toppers". 100% VG should help, as PG is a bit harsher. Simple flavors may isolate any issues with flavorings. Sipping water while you vape helps that too.

I'd try to get the mouth-to-lung thing working.

As mentioned above you don't HAVE to inhale. Although I'm pretty sure you get better nic hits that way than just mouth or mouth/throat/nose no-lung.

As to voltage....dial down and work up. You'd want minimal voltage that isn't harsh for you.

So you pickup your e-cigarette and it sure looks like a cigarette so why wouldn't you smoke it like one? Right? Well, no, wrong. They are made to look like cigarettes for the mental comfort of "having a cigarette in your hand" but the components are different so therefore they need to be smoked/vaped differently. One is paper with a filter, tobacco and a flame; the other is a lithium-ion battery that heats liquid nicotine and forms a vapor. If you find yourself smoking your e-cigarette the way you smoke a traditional cigarette, you are doing something wrong. As a matter of fact, if you vape your e-cig as you smoke your cigarette you will find yourself with a sore throat, sore lungs, an incessant cough and irritation in your mouth and throat.

now that I think about it I have been lung hitting but when I smoke a cig its mouth - lung. I probably could have saved myself a lot of ups and downs by focusing on mouth - lung when vaping
