Some great advice there Bad - and for new vapers - probably an eGo is the way to start. As for the flavours - you will find yourself trying lots of them and i typically only buy 10ml sampler bottles at a time - for about $3, until you really decide on your favourites - because if you then graduate to a tank cartomizer system it is important that (for me) i can vape it all day at work and not become sick to death of it!

I agree and don't know why most eGo starter Kits still come with the attys/ cartridges anymore.
One day in the future when I feel a little braver I'll try a twist or variable volt but I'm good for now and still off cigarettes after pack a day for 35 years!
NOT selling anything but I just sold my Twists that I'd owned for 2 weeks- voltage dial very smooth and narrow- hard to turn. Numbers almost invisible/ hard to read. I'm now waiting for my Spinners- smaller size but more mah, wider knurled voltage dial and voltage numbers very easy to see. The ONLY reason I am getting into VV is because I'm now vaping at 2 mg and need all the help I can get with TH and lung hit and it is most definitely helping.

P.S. CONGRATS you're at 6 months

OMG I hated those tanks that came with my Ego T kit! hated them, almost made me give up, I mean the atomizer/tank was 13 bucks a piece at the brick and mortar store where I got my kit and just awful (leaked, if you got a bad tasting juice in there you didn't like, very hard to clean, etc.!). Thankfully a few people here on the forum recommended an Ego mega dual coil cartomizers (that fit on Ego and/or 510 battery), and now they have the short version which I love Black 1.5 Ohm eGo Mega Dual Coil Short Cartomizer. I'm pretty much stuck on them now.

If I had to to do over I'd get just an ego battery and the short emdcc and possibly a few other cartomizers/tanks to try out. 2.79 for an emdcc that lasts longer than the original atomizer's that came with my Ego T kit, much much better!! I'm pretty comfortable with this set up for now. One day in the future when I feel a little braver I'll try a twist or variable volt but I'm good for now and still off cigarettes after pack a day for 35 years! I didn't even intend to quit when I got my kit just thought I might cut down and I've tried smoking a few cigarettes along the way and they just tasted so horrible! Why do that when there's Heather's Heavenly Vapes blueberry muffin and peanut butter cookie???

Yay! me and thanks to all the good folks here who helped along the way!

thanks so much...you guys are amazing!!! yesterday both of my batteries went out on me, then I realized the the top piece was out of juice! still not sure if I'm using it right and I'm using it in places I would never smoke...like inside the house, then finding myself wanting to go out and smoke.. any suggesting there? oh and when I searched "vapor handbook" it said I didn't have access.

Reply to anything in the forum until you get your post count up to 5. You should then, after about an hour, be able to go and view that thread. I'm not sure why they have this precaution in place but they must have a good reason. Ah I think I have figured out why.

Anyway, you have come to the right place to gain knowledge. My personal way to vape are the eGo Twists and a Vivi Nova tank. Easy to see how much liquid I have left and easy to fill. I agree with Vapor eyes er, I don't know why eGo still sells the cartridges with their kits. I do still use them though on those occasions where I really don't want my tank to get a lot of attention. LOL.

Just don't give up and you will find it easier as you learn more.

Welcome!

What ecig are you using? It helps to know what your set up is.
And if you want to vape outside then just go outside. :) My suggestion is not to have too many rules about when and where - except in places where you would disrupt others or where they don't allow vaping.
It took me awhile to allow myself to vape in the bedroom because I never smoked in the bedroom. I still don't vape there much. So just enjoy it - it can be quite nice having a vape outside. And it's also nice not having to go outside if the weather is miserable.

Vape when you need to, and make sure to drink lots of water - more than normal. Vaping does dehydrate you.

P.S. I was a 40-50 a day smoker too - there is a psychological adjustment - just a change of routine really. Then vaping becomes the familiar thing to do.

You are right where I was a few months ago. I used Blu for 6 months and didn't want anything more until the battery life was getting so short I couldn't vape for more than 15 minutes, and then the other battery was still charging. I bought an Ego starter kit with atomizers and cartridges. Don't do that, the system is outdated, very prone to leaking and the cartidges now sit in my "live and learn" bag in the closet.

I held out buying the Ego starter kit for a long time, because I thought the size of the battery would be something I just couldn't get used, but the 650 mah version gives me 4-6 hours of life and really isn't that big. I now have an Ego Twist and a mini Vivi Nova tank that are the workhorses of my vaping supplies. They're huge compared to the Blu so I don't use them when I am out. When out, I still use some leftover Blu cartridges with a small Ego 450 mah battery, small enough to fit in my hand.

And as for where to vape, I used to go outside to vape as well, part of the ritual of smoking. I don't bother any more, since there's no reason to protect anyone from the nasty 2nd hand smoke.. My wife even asked me the other day what I had been cooking, as she smelled the praline I was vaping! Good luck getting over this hump. You've already taken the biggest step with starting vaping, now it's just finding the right setup for what you want out of your vaping experience.

I tried the blu but 2 cartomizers did not even work :(
m

so I had issues with blu cartomizers and a friend recommended a site that has a pretty cool product. I basically insert my cartomizer and in a few seconds I can clean them and fill them. I also tried their organic tobacco and it has such a great taste! No more buying prefilled cartomizers for me. I will do it myself and save money. The unit is called cartoblast and I found it at Nicapure.com
