As a Grocery Manager for a top 5 company, and having to clean up problems for deli, bakery, etc. Sanitation, etc. This is not an easy thing to pass. Have not bought juice from Freedom Smokes, but will say the following. This is a very good thing. A lot of companies would not have the "balls" to bring this upon themselves. What I do is fix messed up problems. Red lined stores, etc. I do not see this as being any less than a company being NSF certified. Super great job to you folks. Keep up the great work. Will look at you for my next order.I am not affiliated, nor have I ever ordered from them. However I give them a A+ for the effort not many have done. Not an easy thing to pass folks. Great Job!

thank you Pez for that, i worked in restaurants all the way through college so I have seen osha invasions so to speak. This one was tight and to the letter. we survived. we invite all the other dealers to come to the same compliances :)
OSHA is not all about safety for our employees, trust me they were all about safety for the people we sell to. That was important to us. We move on from here to further compliances with fda etc.

OSHA standards are in place for preparing and selling e-liquid? I'm confused. That sounds more like a matter for the Health Department and even they don't have any standards for e-liquid that I'm aware of. Maybe I'm just behind. Anyway, good for you on passing the inspections. That will really help you out on your insurance rates.

occupational safety and health is exactly that. safety of our employees, safety of our product prep for the public. These are important issues not just for our people but for who we sell to. They have no standards for eliquid but they were rigorous on our msds for nicotine, and our additives. Their care and concern is us and our pulic sales. We welcomed them to come view our entire company.
We are the first e-cig juice supplier in the U.S. to withstand such a rigorous inspection. This is good for you, and us...

It's really good to see someone who has incorporated an e-liquid business with another branch of their business and crossed the red tape of a government entity with no glitches. Congrats! I'm going to be watching for the posting of the results of the inspection. Didn't you say next week maybe? This is interesting to say the least. Looks like Big Brother isn't as concerned about the vaping community advancing as we feared. Thanks for the info David. This should be very encouraging for other suppliers as well.

lol definitely not next week. We are talking about a bloated beaucratic branch of the government here :)
Actually the head of this inpection was a very nice guy. and he was fascinated withthis field and how it works. he did research before he even came to our store and asked alot of questions more out of curiosity of how the industry worked then anything. Basically he said it takes several weeks to get paperwork out of them and with the ThanksGiving holiday we could expect it to take a few more days after that.

I'm just kinda curious. What lab equipment did they require you to have?

sorry, proprietary information :)
We are a business like most businesses, in a highly competitive field. There are always going to be some questions we simply won't answer as the info is particular to how we run our business. I have never seen anyone question any of the other dealers as to what lab equipment they have :)

They don't require him to have any lab equipment... they do however require FSUSA to have a safe and hazard free workplace for their employees. OSHA has nothing at all to do with the products they sell, beyond having correct paperwork and storage facilities for everything chemical in nature.

This whole OSHA thread started out innocent enough, but there has been a bit too much half truth here for my taste.

For full information on OSHA and their role in the workplace please see the following: "The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is an agency of the United States Department of Labor. It was created by Congress of the United States under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, signed by President Richard M. Nixon, on December 30, 1970. Its mission is to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses, and occupational fatality by issuing and enforcing standards for workplace safety and health."

Folks... it has NOTHING to do with the product safety of the e-juice you buy from them...

These are facts, and using an OSHA inspection to market that their products are safer because they have passed said inspection is 100% unethical.

I would think they would....Nic is a poison, especially if they are deal with anything higher then 100mg. Which most suppliers are. It sure isnt grandmas cookie house.
OSHA would require some lab safety equipment, for the employees safety.

As to "I have never seen anyone question any of the other dealers as to what lab equipment they have" shrug well I've actually seen many of those labs. It was just a Q

I stand corrected, but in either case, an OSHA inspection is in no way an indicator of product safety, nor is it intended to be. I'm just appalled by this unethical behavior.

Well, I'd rather buy from someone that had a safe working enviroment for their employees as well as proper storage and handling protocals especially when it comes to handling hazardous materials ie: nicotine, then someone that is mixing any old where. They could be mixing up stuff haphazardly and no one would ever know the difference. But, now the government knows how they are handling their materials certified them in that regard. Sure OSHA doesn't validate the product but you can bet if they weren't handling their materials properly that OSHA would shut them down to protect their employees.

To call someone a liar and unethical based on conjecture seems, to use your phrase, 100% unethical. So Zen, what's your beef? The bottom line is if you don't like FSUSA then don't buy from them.
