Shekinahsgroom, how much time do you think the Canadian side of this coop would take for the individual that volunteered?

There's really no way to even begin to guess.....way too many variables.

It takes as long as it takes, that's all that I can tell you.

That's why when I say, once you've committed....there's no turning back and you MUST follow through!

And keep in mind, your host WILL BE RESPONSIBLE if things go bad, so I would hope that this person keeps good records to protect their own azz in the event of a disaster.

It's not just stepping up and volunteering, it's doing the right thing too if something goes very wrong.

So choose wisely who you all want to host for you! ;)

I dunno, I kinda read Mindfield as "Crap, I shoulda never have opened this thread..." :p

lol ... no, I think I can do it. I'm just trying to hear back about the logistics of where it should be shipped to -- unless the shipment can be split and the Canadian portion of the shipment can be sent directly to me instead of being forwarded from the US, in which case I don't have to wait for anything and can jump right in.

Also to help insure a little less headache at least for the first time maybe limit the particpants to 20 or 30. That would go a long way to controlling the logistics.

Well, I'm not too concerned about the quantity of participants -- it's all the same logistics, just the number of people to ship to changes. If I have a good handle on how many people are participating I can get a better idea of how much shipping and packing material is going to cost. The only real headache is calculating shipping cost to each person, and I don't know if there's a way we can do a kind of flat, average rate or what.

You're gonna have use boxes, envelopes are a BIG NO!

We're talking about lithium batteries people, and a lot of them, so unless you want significant damages to your cells....I highly suggest locating boxes and crapload of newspaper!

Crumpled newspaper is a great packing material and if you collect your old newspapers, it's cost effective.

You'll also need to order bubble-wrap for wrapping the cells and I can help you locate the same stuff I used....if you need help?

Mindfield, if you wanna take on this responsibility....send me a PM, then we're gonna have to get the okay from Joker before I start giving you advise.
