I just keep thinking of the prohibition days and smiling.
Privately owned stockpiles purchased prior were never made illegal during Prohibition. In fact at least one President moved an extensive stockpile into or out of the White House during Prohibition. I've forgotten the details, but it's well documented.

I think I voted for that guy.

Nah it’s not panic or paranoia (Brett’s talking about me). Love you dearly Brett! I gave away my entire vape stash four years ago and just simplified down to one Innokin mod and one aspire drop in tank in hopes of quitting (I did quit for two weeks but started back). Coils are all I bought. I wasn’t prepared whatsoever with the latest news (and the monkey on my back won’t let go). I don’t think most people are panicking...they are just preparing and fighting for their freedoms. I’m locked and loaded now (literally and figuratively). :sneaky: The threads here with all the vaping experts made it easy due to the announced sales and the popular items to buy since I’ve been out of the game for a while. ECF is awesome. :)

Not just you, dear, even though it is good to hear from you again. These kind of gub'ment proposals always seem to send the vaping community into a collective meltdown.

Donald Trump is a health nut, except for his fetish with fast food. So when he started hearing about all those kids at his sons school using vape devices, then his wife all pestering him about it he did what any parent in charge of the biggest economy in the world would do……he panic'd. lol.

Now those that have not figured out that Donald Trump was a "hand is quicker than the eye" type of businessman long before becoming the president are naturally going to take a statement at face value. It's like the time he told the world the US Navy fleet was headed towards Australlia when they were actually steaming towards Korea. Not long after that the fat young dictator there stopped launching missles over Japan.

This is just another one of those things Donald Trump does to draw attention away from what he really intends to do. The real danger to vaping is taking place at lower levels of government at the state level. In the bigger picture it's the fat cats in the state legislatures and governors mansions we need to be watching.

In the meantime the US President has said to the vaping industry "step up your game in terms of thwarting under age vaping or face the wrath of Uncle Sam". Meanwhile the governors who want to control salt content in french fries are the real threat to us vapers.

Arresting youth vaping is on the US governments list of things to do. Stopping vaping all together is on the radar of many state goverments.

I learned the art of watching the world from the outside looking in a long time ago. One day I decided to step off the planet and watch it spin past,so to speak. Outside observation reveals a lot of interesting details versus being part of the whole process. It's kinda like see-ing both sides of a coin at the same time. When you get emotionally attached to a situation, there are people who take full advantage of that. They know how to get the populice to react a certain way. This is just another one of those times.

since i make my own juice i'm just kinda in semi-panic mode. right now the attention seems to be on these pod systems; and with more careful reading it also seems like the majority of those who're falling ill are vaping things other than nicotine. although the tv talking heads rather conveniently leaves that part out. i do have a couple months supply steeping in my vape closet but have been wondering if i should just bite the bullet and make a big enough batch to last a year. i'll really start to worry if the attention broadens to us more diy vapors and suddenly we can no longer buy liquid nicotine, pg, or vg.

I doubt PG or VG will be affected much, but if the FDA were to restrict nic-base sales to entities that had registered as tobacco products manufacturers, the DIY community would be screwed.

FWIW, it's been in the FDA's power to do that since the day the Deeming was finalized in 2016. All they'd have to do is issue "guidance" to that effect.

It’s reminiscent of the run on ammunition when folks were in fear of possible firearm control laws and shelves were cleared. We just fight back. :) And who doesn’t love to shop for new toys...pththth. :w00t:
One difference: Firearms and ammo prices skyrocketed with the panics, whereas vape vendors are having sales. I suppose most vapers out there still don't seem to have a clue what seems to be coming.

Wehlp I bought over 300 dollars in coils yesterday. It hurt, but more I did it because I don't know that Innoken is going to put out more 1.6 coils and they are my favorite. So I did a lot of THAT. Plus, nautilus coils. Today, I am buying 5 more liters of nic but I already have about 6 and one gallon in my freezer.

I am going to buy another 21700 dicodes mod and a charger plate but I was going to anyway, and then, there will be truly nothing I NEED, although I might reduce my nic from 19 to 16. It's not like it could hurt.

The coils were really TOUGH but like, there are a few drop in tanks I am just not willing to give up and I DEFINITELY have enough RTAs to last me until the end of time. And mods. I should be fine, and if this all turns out to be a tempest in a storm, well, I won't have to worry about BUYING stuff for a while.
