Parts and repurposing

So I decided I was going to make use of my smaller stingray tubes and make w more mods cheaper than buying a new one. I purchased nemesis firing buttons from vaping walrus and they fit. After two size trials of some hybrid caps, the 20x.5 size fit. Problem is, my locking rings fit the threading but are too long once its all put together for there to be any throw. The mods work without the locking rings but it sure is ugly and unsafe.

The distance between the battery and the switch is perfect screwed in as shown. If I back it out to accommodate the ring I have battery rattle and no contact. So, I've searched for alternate rings with no luck. (EDITED)

Looks like it could work with a Stingray X lock ring, it's about half the height. Unfortunately I've got no clue where you can purchase just the ring, or if it's the same thread pitch/diameter.

Yeah the age old problem. There's aillion nemesis parts out there and that's about it. If I knew someone who could cut the rings I'd pay them to do it.

Solved my issue. Ordered magnets from a site that are tiny enough to fit the Aw button tops but tall enough to push the battery down enough where the switch screws in less allowing room for tha bigger rings. I have successfully repurposed my tubes for 2 new mods lol.

I heard that that is a very unsafe practice.
Not sure of the facts but if its not safe I wouldn't do it.

I've never used a magnet in any of my PVs, but I seem to recall reading somewhere on ECF that they go on the negative side. If you put them on the positive side and they move sideways off center, they could short the battery though the inside of a metallic tube. It makes sense to me, but then again I don't do it. Any one else know of this?

Right. So they are on the positive side. Also I deliberately purchased them so strong they will actually stick to one another through my finger bone or from 6 inches away on a table. Once stick to the battery they aren't going anywhere, especially with the top cap holding it down. I've done some fidgeting to make sure. But thank you for your concern. I was aware of the risks. This is what it is gonna be until I can find rings for a stingray.

for mod parts repurposing/flexibility I'm trying to standardise on m21x1.

my vamos zmax chiyous and king mods all use m21x1.
ph22 uses m21x1 except the topcapbeauty ring

I hate my nemesis and stingray because they use different threading in different places.

That would be nice. Unfortunately the nemmy rings the threading fits the stingray but the height on some parts is a bit off.

Why not shave the ring down? Rotary tool, orbital sander or good ol elbow gease on a block sander would take it down as far as you want. You could rub it on concrete.

I don't have any of those things, I work 12 hour days and I don't know anyone with the tools. There you go. That's why not. Lol
