No, and that's part of the problem. If we could get representation from them here, we could refer all these questions to the supplier. SJ is checking into that now. This certainly isn't your average supplier joins, starts threads or his own forum, then members centralize their questions to the supplier. That's why they're spread all over the place.

Honestly, and at the risk of getting into trouble on my new-favorite forum...and with all due respect... I think it's more likely that they are spread all over the place because the first thread on Blu that had tons of useful, and informative, information was closed because of a spammer or two (and some that were thought to be spammers but were not).

And saying that just because there were a lot of low-post people talking positively about this product is ridiculous. Correlation is not causation. I was one of those "low-count" posters, though I hadn't received my Blu's yet. Many of those "low-count" posters are still here making posts all over the place. Did you think to try and communicate with them to find out if they were legit before removing all the other information from everyone else? Many people found out about these forums because of Blu. I have been told twice that that is not likely AFTER I have said it was true for me, which basically amounts to being called a liar for no reason whatsoever. I saw an Ad for Blu on another website I frequent... which led me to Blu. Then I started doing mass-research about e-cigs in general which led me here. If I hadn't seen that Blu ad, I never would have been here. (Or, to Clarify for Lu, I wouldn't have been here NOW.. and maybe for not some time from now...and when quitting analogs every day counts!) I suspect there are many more like me. New products that have been advertised well generate a lot of interest/feedback/participation. That is all that has happened here. The failure to recognize that is the problem.

Why do we need a representative to discuss this product? That's not what anyone is looking for. Blu has an 800 number for that with live customer service. All we want is to be able to discuss the product and it's company with our peers. Can't we have a sub-forum like all the other models and not have those threads closed when we talk about this product?

I love this forum... but helping to inform people about one of my first e-cigs is rather difficult when every time I do that thread gets closed. It's incredibly frustrating, and being called a liar (more or less, in different words) is rather upsetting. I like this forum -- please don't run me off.

Not in the New Member's are you can't. The other suppliers aren't allowed there either. Play by the rules and you can play all day.

The other forums are sponsored by their suppliers. Why can't Blu come here and sponsor their threads?

This is my opinion. Don't take it personally. It really doesn't matter to me which color device you use....but the New Member forum has rules and those posts are violating the spirit of them. As a member of this forum I find the disregard for the forum rules by new members to be disrespectful to the rest of us.

I hope my explanation puts the issue into perspective for you. I hope you will stick around and become a valuable, contributing member to the forum.

I take no offense whatsoever. I am grateful to get some responses to my concerns, so thank you very much for taking the time to do so!

What I meant is not a sub-forum in the "Supplier" category, but in the "Specific Model" discussion category. Blu isn't just a company -- it's a model. I can't answer why Blu doesn't come here...I am not affiliated with them in any way. But does their lack of interest in your forum prevent your registered members from talking about them to each other? I mean it seems, to me, like having a forum about retail sales and not allowing anyone to talk about Wal-Mart because Wal-Mart doesn't participate. The Blu is an e-cig that many here are wanting to discuss.

I'm not a supplier, and it matters little to me where we talk about Blu's.. as long as we consumers have somewhere that we can!

I would like the forum to remain as spam free as possible as well. I loathe spam. I apologize if I have broken any forum rules myself. It was never my intention to do so... and out of respect for this great forum I shall re-read them to make sure I do not do so in the future. I don't recall anything saying what "new members" are to discuss in the "new members" forum. I would say about 60% of the people that began the original Blu thread were, in fact, new members... and new to vaping. (I was one of them). If it stopped being new people then might've we been able to just move the thread to the appropriate forum?

If you noticed, on the old locked thread in the new members forum, there were many glowing reports on blu cigs from people who had very low posts counts. That is a common spammers technique. Some people get paid to post glowing reviews of products in forums like this....they usually don't post anywhere else or stay around as productive members of the forums for very long.

So excuse us if we're a bit leary of all the "Hallelujah! Blu Cig is the Messiah of E-cigs!" cheerleading.

GEP, I can see your point but why is that any person that talks about them is thought of as a spammer? I surely am not a spammer and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Please don't lump us all together, OK?

Now, to answer the question about the hype from some low posters, some insight from my background.

I'm a mod for a musician forum that has over 70,000 active members. I specifically deal with a subforum that covers amplifiers and cabinets. We see this same thing everytime a new user joins the forum. You get noobs that haven't posted anything and they start talking about how awesome their gear is. However, it isn't due to them being schills for the company. It has to do with noob enthusiasm with their new toy and the same can be said for some here with other brands. If I had come on here saying how awesome the Screwdriver I bought was with my first post would you have thought I was a spammer? I bet not.

Also, I know this forum sofware well. The admins (and mods depending on what level of access the admins grant them) can search IP addresses, cross check them for duplicate accounts, and all sorts of other stuff. They have the tools to identify and take care of any spammer/troll that comes on here.

I think the "Specific Model" discussion category is actually a very good suggestion. I had forgotten about the specific model forum.

You can PM SmokeyJoe the admin...or you can send it through the one of the mods (SambucaLu or Walrus) and they can forward that suggestion up the line. I don't see why there can't be one but then I'm just one of the gang there may be reasons I'm not privvy to.

All right everyone, let's get a few things straight...

This is a thread for discussing the Blu Cig, not your suspicions about its supplier or the forum members who are posting about the product.

While I agree that there is a legitimate problem regarding the abnormal amount of new users and posts "advertising" the Blu Cig, bashing every member who has a positive word to say about the product is not the solution.

As for the "unfounded" criticism about the Blu Cig, while the product is still relatively new, there is enough information about it to allow members to make a judgement as to whether or not it is a good e-cig for them.

If you combine the numerous unsubstantiated and misleading claims that Blu makes about their product with the less than impressive video reviews we have seen so far (as well as the "spam" advertising" situation here on ECF), it's not exactly a surprise why so many people have an unfavorable opinion of both the Blu Cig and its supplier.

Now, as far as this thread goes, I'm going to go ahead and close it.

The conversation has so grossly deviated from the original topic that I no longer see any particular value in keeping the thread open.

If any member has a legitimate question to ask about the Blu Cig, you may create a new thread in the general discussion section and ask it there.

(A model specific section for the Blu Cig will be created in the near future, you do not need to suggest it to any of the forum staff.)

However, consider this the final warning to anyone involved in this or any other Blu Cig related thread. If you choose to encourage, facilitate, or engage in any further off-topic conversation, you will be dealt with accordingly.
