I was contacted by a member here about buying a 5 volt passthrough...I plan on plugging it into an outlet while im at work on my computer but he mentioned I need to have a 2amp usb charger..The only one I have is the one I charge my riva and I was wondering if someone could tell me if this charger would work with the passthrough before I buy it. It says on it

input: AC100-240V 50/60hz
output: DC5V=500mA+-5%

A 5V PT with a 2.5 ohm atty (normal 510) will draw 2 Amps from the power source. Your charger is not 2 Amp rating, and the PT could fry it, or not work at all. Same is true for computer USB ports, which are generally rated to about 0.3 Amps or so. Many a story of computer USBs frying, or even the mother board!! You really do need a dedicated AC/USB converter. I got mine from Radioshack and it has lasted a very long time under heavy use with my 5V PT.
